Default Carseat in 992 Targa

Three questions:
1) Does the 992 Targa have top tether anchors for a front facing car seat (like the coupe)?
2) I recognize that the back of the Targa is more upright than the coupe, but can you still fit a (slim) forward facing car seat back there?
3) How close would the Targa bar be to a child's head? It looks like it drops pretty low into the cabin. I worry head trauma in a collusion.

I just love the Targa styling, but it's more important to me to be able to take my son for short rides in daddy's "race car," surprise pick him up from pre-school occasionally, etc. so would settle for a 992 couple if the Targa isn't workable / as safe.

Take a look at the autogeful targa review, when he seats at the back. Disregard it's an adult but observe the location of the central roof.

Yeah I saw that. What concern me about it was head trauma for rear passengers (even if small children). Reminds me of why I wore a helmet when driving to/from track in when I had a fully-caged track car years ago.

not sure about top tether but I've got a friend with a 991 targa and he goes everywhere with his 6 year old in back and says its fine.

Yeah, once they’re over 5, they can go in Boosters seats which don’t use a top tether. But my wife wants to push out one more in hopes of a daughter l, so I need ability to haul a car seat for at least another 5.5 years or so.

And don’t worry, yes, we have an SUV already. Not expecting Targa to be a family hauler for road trips, just want ability to pick up a kid in a pinch or take them out for a little ride to give mommy a break.

Is the targa roof a lot lower than the coupe roof? The guy in those reviews is very tall and he can’t sit in a normal position back there because of the limited legroom.

I think the rollover is on the way of getting in and the height makes me uneasy to have anyone in the back. When you combine proper occupant seatbelt height (eg booster seat) versus that bar at forehead level...

I have been using a cab with my kids for the past 12 years. The roof is tall enough, but not for much longer. The rear seat inclination is the same as the targa. A bit better on the coupe.

Bear in mind that no 911 has whiplash protection for kids past certain height (around 5-6 yo). There's a gap between not tall enough for the front and too tall for the back. That does worry me. Even for short trips. Normally my 12 yo goes in the front (kid is 5'4") and the 9 yo in the back. When the boss rides, the older gets a bit scrunched, trips need to be shorter. When we got to the track, it needs to be in 2 cars (we used to go together, plus 2 dogs).

Here are some pics. You

can see how much headroom you lose. Hope this helps.

Wow, you really do lose quite a bit of headroom. Thanks so much. Do you see top feather hooks back there? Targas are so hard to find right now I can’t find a dealer with 100 miles that has one!

According to the 992 manual, the upper anchorage points are "coupe only".

Download the "Good to Know" app, in the app, you'll download the 992 content, then search for "child seats".

You lose the headroom mainly getting into the car. I did not see any top tether hooks.

Bumping this thread, as I got a call from my SA offering me a Targa 4S allocation.

Anyone out there get high-back booster seats for toddlers (WAYB Pico etc.) in a Targa. Seems like the Targa is a lot less usable for young kids in the back, so wondering if perhaps I should just sit tight with my C4S.
