Recurring cel
Hey all. Has anyone had a recurring cel for I think it was a fuel vapor capture valve? I am second owner on my 992s. First time the replaced a sensor. Second time they sent the logs to the factory. Light just came on for the third time today and I’m not hopeful since last time they said we don’t know what’s wrong.
Admittedly I don’t have a lot of patience for electrical and software gremlins. This is my second Porsche and second time my ownership experience has been dulled by lack of reliability.
seeing how this is emissions related I’m considering pursuing lemon law. Perhaps other owners have had similar issues and got them resolved? I do like the car (mostly) and would love to have this car as a long term member of the family but this has to get resolved.

I'm sorry to hear about your issue. It's really, really frustrating, but give 'em a chance to fix it - it's doubtful that it's electrical gremlins if it's the same code being thrown. In modern cars the fuel vapor recovery systems and system designed to detect leaks that could allow fuel vapors to escape are pretty complicated. Maybe it's something simple like you just need a new gas cap that seals up tightly when you give it that critical "twist until it clicks" after filling up the tank, or maybe it's something else.... e.g. https://www.getporscheparts.com/oem-...pump-958906243 - check out those diagrams - there's plenty of active and passive components that might trigger that CEL (I'm not an expert, just guessing) and the leak detection system operates slowly so seeing if each part replacement fixes the problem takes a while. Anyway, I'd hold off playing the lemon card unless they really can't figure out how to resolve it.

Yes, didn't think it was the fuel lines. These EVAP issues are, like electrical gremlins, a pain to find. As mentioned KISS - start with the fuel cap and work from there (other potential culprit: PCV or oil separator clogged).

Hard to believe that in this day and age they can't design a roll out engine on rails. But the 911s and so many others they build an engine and the car around it, maintaining it is not designed with you in mind.
