I stand corrected. Confirmed with the salesperson that the car had PASM and not SPASM. Could that account for some softness? Is there a big diff? Even in Sport plus I thought it felt a bit soft!

I just bought a C2S cab manual trans and love it! It has the lowered sport suspension and feels plenty sporty enough. Not quite as firm as a GT3 but still very sporty yet well dampened for bad roads. I really like the torque of the turbo engine and it feels faster at lower (Legal) speeds than the GT3/4. It sounds good too with the sport exhaust, burbles and all. It certainly doesn’t replace the GT cars on the track but it sure is fun around town and twisty mountain roads! For the first time in a dozen Porsches, I bought one off the lot that was a dealer trade so I did get to test drive it first. I can’t imagine being disappointed by a manual C2S.

not certain if this is on the lot but CarGurus says there is a 992S MT in the LA area:

I would pretty much guarantee you will like the stick...if you are a MT guy and even thinking about getting a stick I bet you will quickly be bored with PDK.

I stayed with a manual transmission because I’ve driven PDKs and owned several dual clutch transmission cars including A C8 . No matter how good they are after about five minutes I find myself just leaving it in automatic. I don’t argue any of the performance benefits but to me their just not as much fun? Carl

Even better feel / execution than my 991. Short throughs, smooth but still mechanical, short enough gears (could be shorter, but still better than other models I have had). They did a really nice job with it.
Concur. Its a great car and the shifter is well done. Reminds me of the short shifter from the Cayman GT4 I put in my 981 Cayman S (2014). The 992 is short and precise and from all I've heard a much better design and execution than previous models including the 991.1 before it. Although I didn't have a manual 991.1/991.2 myself or drive one, I find that quite believable. Great to drive! Truly enjoyable!

Definitely watch these and others. Good info there.

I had driven manual 991's as well, both .1 and .2, and to be frank I wasn't that impressed, over at the PECLA centre in particular I found myself getting stuck between gears on several occasions. Unfortunately they don't seem to offer a manual 992 experience now otherwise I'd suggest that for sure.

Bottom line though, you won't be disappointed with the manual in a 992. It's very well executed, amazing really how far they've developed a gearbox that is essentially a carry over from the 991. Still not quite at the same level as the Aisin 6-speed in the 997 but very, very close.
What this guy said! LOL

Just do it, you won't be disappointed. You can shift it very quickly and the 7th gear lockout prevents accidental 4th -> 7th shifts. I think the gear ratios are perfect for the power of the engine, 2nd gear is great for tight backroads and even 3rd or 4th still works if you aren't "going for it". Resale will be great when you go to sell it because its one of the last high powered sports cars with a manual.
I test drove PDK 992 base coupe and it was the business. So much better and faster than my 2013 991.1 car that I really didn't think I needed to go up to the S. The base car is fast enough for most drivers and traffic on public roads. Problem was I discovered that I really wanted this car to be a "driver's car" and in the same vein as my 2014 981 Cayman S manual and the 2005 Carrera S manual that preceded it. Thus after much discusion with. my local SA and a number of my old SA and a few Sales Managers who I've remained friends over the last 18 yrs of P-car buying along with some internet research; when I discovered that a manual 992 was going to have to be a in Carrera S form IF I wanted a car in the near future (yes I know there are some RL's who are certain that the Carrera T and Carrera GTS are almost upon us in manual form....not likely yet as I see and hear it however) not as a 2022-2023 purchase 2-3 yrs from now. So I ordered my car as many others...sight unseen in manual form! So far its great!

Yes that will be.a hard search I think...not many out there in dealer's lots to test. As others have said best option is probably an owner close by who has a manual and won't mind taking it out with you. But agree all feedback has been accurate that I've seen. Test drive of a manual isn't really needed. Both transmissions are superb...just a matter of what your want/prefer AND can get really!

Lovely car and color. Agree with all said here. While not a GT3 it does the trick for the most part and my Carrera S is way more powerful than my prior 991.1S. Will do all you need it to do am sure....

For those that have had both 991.2 and 992 MT's, please compare. I was not that impressed by the 991.2 manual. It seems like there have been some major improvements in the 992.

I have had both - it's like they put the short shift kit in the 992. Much improved. There's been a lot posted here about this and also an R&T article for the proper prose.

I've had a 991.1 S manual and a 991.2 GTS manual. I take delivery of a 992 manual in June. I'll post my impressions and a comparison to this thread as soon as I get the new car.
