I've been in a limbo re: an allocation for a TTS, but I've been reassured by my dealer and their rep that an allocation is forthcoming, albeit a 2022. I had decided I want to go PTS with this build and have been settling on a dark green - the leading contender being Oak Green Metallic. If everything goes according to plan, I would have an allocation by Friday and then about 10 days to decide on a configuration before the PTS lock kicks in.
Of course none of that could happen and I could remain in limbo. We'll see, I guess. Until that time, I'm trying to nail down the configuration. I won't bore with the details - the interior will be Truffle brown and I'll get the carbon sills and the leather steering column surround. Otherwise stock. Lights will be blacked out Matrix and I'm de-badging the car with blacked out Porsche logo.
Question is the wheels and caliper color. I'm a little stuck. I like all in different ways.
There is no right or wrong answer, but I like all of them, so I'm looking to be nudged in a particular direction. This is more of a looks question than anything, so I thought it would be ok to post in here and get more responses.
I voted for silver with black calipers. While I know that yellow and green go together, in this case I think the yellow calipers take ones eyes away from the beautiful green of the TTS body. I think the black wheels look heavy on this car, and the silver wheels give it a more streamlined look.
Silver wheels, black calipers. I've always thought the Big Reds put too much focus on the calipers, and yellow PPCBs are even more in your face: "Look at me!...I'm ceramic! " Silver/black gives the car a very classy, understated look.
Good points - I've had a lot of the same thoughts.
I ruled out the black ED wheels with black calipers. I think it looks great on a dark car, but I think it can dominate a lighter colored car unless the build has sport design kit or something dramatic.
So that leaves yellow calipers for the black wheels. The black gloss wheels definitely pop - it's maybe a more luxury than sporty look and maybe the most dramatic. Oak Green is a throwback color, however, and the black might be a bit modern?
I think with the silver ED wheels, the black calipers makes the most sense - the silver is a clean look and the black calipers fit that motif. I've seen some pics of Oak Green Metallic with silver wheels and it's a strong look. But will it pop?
The standard wheels are a safe look - the compromise option. It's a very clean, elegant design, but maybe a little too clean?

It will absolutely POP because it's so clean and classy, whereas a high percentage of owners just can't stop themselves from adding unnecessary bling and extraneous decals and colors. Your car looks awesome.

Thanks. I hope it works out. This has been one of the tougher allocation hunts I've had; adding PTS to the mix has made it even tougher. Hopefully everything falls into place and the allocation arrives on time and PTS goes through. The way Porsche does PTS now, you basically have a week or two before the build locks - March 15th deadline for a July build.
I love the yellow ceramic when mixed with black. Who cares if it screams Ceramic they are unbelievably great. I may be biased as that is what I am running but with such a beautiful color of green the black is just more strong.
New Turbo S wheels for the new Turbo S. Yellow callipers denote (not scream...) PCCB in Porsche-speak. Black callipers on PCCB is a passing fad, offered for those wishing to be different.
