Now I'm sure I could option a C2S for $124k but you are right, that is skinny, and tough to do. I was originally at $133-135 and have settled near $138-139. This is not a short term car for me, and I figure I would regret skimping on a few options in order to bring it lower. And for a discount, I got nothing.
Unless you have sales tax credit on trade in, why not just post here in Classifieds?

I went with Upgraded wheels, Sport Pkg, Full Leather, Metallic Paint, Deviated Seat Centers, 930 Leather Pkg, and lots of the other usuals like heated steering wheel, ventilated seats, headrest crests, PSE, BOSE, chrono and tach dials, etc. No sunroof of any kind. Debated but opted not to do RWS or the upgraded LEDs.

I would have jumped on 2-3%. I effectively got 0.75%. I'm not sure if I should be grateful I got anything or call that a slap in the face. 3% would have essentially covered the PPF, Tint and Ceramic.

There is almost no 911 out there that will not sell. People have different price points and different needs. There is this belief out there that with or without certain options that the car will not resell. It is ridiculous. If priced correctly there is no 911 in general (even ones with questionable color options) that won't sell.
Bases will sell, S's will sell, sunroofs will sell, no sun roofs will sell, PSE will sell, no PSE will sell, PDK's will sell, MT's will sell. Spec what you want and just realize that most options lose the majority of their value and so choosing an option needs to be based on you wanting it not the next buyer wanting it.

And to the OP yes 5% is an awesome discount now and a good one when you ordered it. Highest discounts were achieved in the first couple of weeks of Covid when Porsche thought no one would dare to spend money with the future looking so bleak, mid Covid discounts dropped to the 3-6% range which is likely when OP ordered and now you are lucky to get 3% with MSRP bieng the order of the day.

It's all about timing right now. My dealer (sold family 8 cars) initially said he HOPED to get me an allocation in a month or two even with our purchase history, discount never considered. Two weeks later on a Saturday in November dealer calls me, a client just walked on 992 ORDER (not allocation) that was closing Monday morning. Said its mine if I wanted it with 4% discount but he needed deposit immediately. Of course I gave it to him, spent Sunday configuring my car, locked in on Monday, delivered January 25th 2021.

I know I got the discount only due to the immediacy of the timing, call it luck, I say its just lucky timing for me.

Its all about the timing and luck
