I am in Ontario. I got 1.75% off and 3 yrs prepaid maintenance (retail value $2,550) at no charge included in the deal. This was back in Oct/Nov 2020. This is from Downtown Porsche.

So, 2% is pretty decent, IMO.

I’m in NW OH and wondering what % would you consider considerable? Appreciate it.

First thing I’d consider is whether I wanted a custom build car this year or not. The discount would be secondary. As many have mentioned, discounts are becoming increasingly tough to find, and some of the better discounts are for hopes and dreams on a waitlist, not available allocations/cars.

I secured an allocation earlier this month in the US at a 2% discount. A couple other dealers with whom I was in contact were offering MSRP. I would imagine anyone getting 5/6/7/8% off either has a solid relationship with the dealer, is lucky with timing (i.e. - someone else backing out last minute), or is very vigilant, persistent and patient in holding out for the deal they want. A bit easier I am sure in the US where there are many more dealers.

Yeah, I really lucked out at 7.5% on my 21 C2S cab but started search in April and finally found real allocation in September for Jan delivery. Downside is it sits in Chicago winter with only 125 miles on it after a month. Haha

Yeah, I think people (understandably) really battened down the hatches for a few months given all the uncertainty that pervaded 2020. I imagine a lot of prospective buyers that would have purchased in March through summer of last year now might be feeling a bit more freedom to to purchase a six-figure toy, combined with somewhat of a supply crunch.

I sometimes forget just how uncertain the future seemed in March/April of last year, and how crazy I felt for considering buying a new sports car then.

Yeah, I think I did OK. Yours is about 4% with the maintenance factored in, but I guess I’m not going to split hairs over it. Who knows, maybe they will give me a deal on maintenance when they bring it up.

It is remarkable the difference between the discounts on the 992 that were offered pre Covid19 and after. I got my allotment on a moderately optioned C4S in February of 2020. The car didn't arrive until mid September 2020.
I got a 7% discount. Now, having gone to the Porsche Configurator, I find my exact car going up in 2021 about $1000, That plus the paltry 2% discounts offered, make me financially glad of my deal and purchase.

Same boat. I ordered my 2021 992 in June and through various circumstances, partially mistake/luck, ended up with a 9% discount (and I am a repeat customer whom has bought 4 911s from them). NOW, this is before dealers learned that allocations were going to be slashed. My dealer has been AWESOME, but did say that they wouldn't have done that deal had they know what was going to happen to their already limited allocations. Knowing what I know now, I know I'm very fortunate.

Wow! I tried asking my dealer for some more freebies at delivery and he said my real gift was the discount he gave me...lol!

Yes people tightened up last spring on large purchases but not all and I think the bigger effect is 1) COVID19 affect on production and sub-contractors...some places that support building these cars and others have long supply tails of items that go into production and there have been shortages worldwide of such things (i.e. microchips now - try finding laptop RAM that is not Chinese or some unknown name now) and also 2) factories and work stopped in Europe for a few weeks in March-April timeframes which had to affect production. Porsche just followed suit with slashing 2021 car allocations which did NOT help and I think they did end 2020 production a bit early but could be wrong. So those in the hunt in Q1 2020 or Q2 2020 truly got the best deals and discounts and allocations are easier to find.

Yeah you got a great deal...by the time i decided to go ahead and trade my 2013 991.1S and upgrade into the 992 in June/July...allocations availability had started to tighten significantly. Had to wait about 10 days before my dealer found one! I got a little under 3.5% on mine and that was after my SA mentioned at least 2-3 times that they sell the majority of their cars at MSRP and hadn't sold any 992's at discount since early 2020.

9% you are the man! Yes in June-Sept allocations began to dry up like water after a New Orleans thunderstorm! Quickly! LOL. By Sept-Oct most i know who got an allocation were either lucky, had a very good relationship with the dealer, or already on a list 1/2 dozen deep and just got moved up by staying with the cause! But yes getting a car after like Nov was like looking for water in the desert!

For sure Europe will suffer from production delays and supply chain issues for some time yet, China though is humming again. Their economy grew 2.3% overall in 2020 and 6.5% in Q4 over the same period in 2019. Not only will they be exporting like crazy but expect them to soak up more and more production of luxury items like Porches over the next few years as their middle class wealth continues to grow.

I bought a base low option car last week and got 1% off and $2000 free shipping to my door in an enclosed trailer. Worked out to just under 3% discount altogether. I searched all dealers in the lower 48 states over a few days and I feel that not only wasI very fortunate to find my car,

but also to secure even this small discount.

That's one nice looking 992.
