Spoke to a friend who’s a Porsche GM right after he completed his weekly call with Porsche NA. Sounds like 8-16 weeks until parts and deployment will be mobilized to retrofit the cars with embargoed chips. Sounds like the chips were manufactured in countries with child labor.

Some good news for upcoming builds. Cars going into production now will have updated chips and will likely be fast tracked to dealers for deliveries to keep some inventory flowing. Delays will be expected once retrofits begin as there will be some heavy congestion at the port, with old and new built cars competing for space on the ships.

Hang in there. Porsche will figure this out. We lived through many stop sales, the war in Ukraine and the Felicity Ace. It will get better.

I could be one of those cars fast tracked as my production completion moved up a month this week from March 28th to Feb.28th...!

This thread was from 2021. Here are two threads where the current chip issue is being actively discussed, though arguably mostly speculation.

My 992 T build is still scheduled to begin 3/4. My hope is they have the replacement part lined up by then and I don’t experience any delays 🤞

I think you'll be fine by that time.

My 911 with an April build originally said may12th delivery now says June 1st. I really hope there are no more delays or I’ll really start to be depressed…

Damn. Hopefully there are no more delays. Is TYD giving you the updates or your SA?

My 4/29 build now says 5/31. It used to be 5/29.

How are you guys getting revised delivery dates? Mine has been showing frozen at the port in Jacksonville since January 8.

The revised dates are for cars that have yet to be built or shipped.

Yours is caught in the part embargo delay. New cars being built don't have that issue.

I was supposed to hit V250 today but stage 3 hasn't yet updated to completed. Still suck at stage 2, although, my completion date of March 5th remains the same. FWIW the scheduled dates on the Porsche Sales System were all exactly 4 days behind the dates on TYD.
