First included service - break in service?
What mileage is everyone changing out their original oil?
anyone doing it earlier than the recommended interval?
does it make sense to change it out at 1000 miles? Or overkill? Will the dealer even do it sooner than recommended?
coming from bmw m they always had an1000 mile break in service.

As to whether you should, or whether it is necessary, that's like asking us whether the PDK or the MT is better.
Just keep in mind that Porsche neither requires nor recommends a "break in" oil change.
Of course, do what makes you comfortable and happiest.
Enjoy the new ride.

You're not going to get the "free" service/oil change unless you're within a couple months of the 1 year mark or around 8000 miles. If you want to do it earlier than that, the service folks at the dealer will gleefully take your money after reminding you that it's not really necessary.

There are a lot of threads on this. Porsche doesn't do break-in oil.

I tend to think of this issue in terms of time vs mileage. Not many of us put enough miles on a 911 for mileage to be an issue with modern oils.
I think it's pretty easy to recommend at least a yearly oil change. If you're driving it very little or making multiple short trips, then it may make sense to change it twice a year given the higher risk of engine condensation fouling the oil.

Nothing anyone says - from car manufacturers to the folks who make lubricants - will convince me that it's wise to leave oil that's been run hard 10,000 km (the mileage on my 992 from July 7 to the end of September) over hot summer months in a car that's going into a Canadian winter and will see cold starts as low as -35 or even -40 celsius. When that starter turns over in a car that's so cold the doors will barely open and the seats are as hard as rock, I want to KNOW that my oil is clean, fresh, and has as much of its cold start lubricating properties as possible. Although bore scoring isn't an issue in 992s as it was in past 911s, we northerners learned that one of the preventative measures was more frequent oil changes than the manufacturer recommended, especially when a "cold start" means coaxing frozen pistons to life at temperatures when sane people don't even go outside, much less for a drive. A couple of hundred extra bucks a year for a pre-winter oil change is pretty cheap insurance in my view for what is likely a $30,000+ engine.
An occasional use 911 in the southern U.S. is a different situation...in that use case, it's probably fine leaving the same oil in the crankcase for a year.
