2021 Electric Tilt Slide Sunroof Changes
Hi All,
I just noticed there there is a change to the electric glass sunroof for 2021 Coupe. The fixed glass area forward and aft of the moveable glass panel is now in the same colour as the car. Previously it was the same smoked colour as the moveable panel and in my opinion created a "reverse skunk" strip down the centre of the car on lighter colour cars and didn't look quite right next to the A pillars.
It seems the designers at Porsche agree. While I still prefer a steel roof, it will make it much easier for me looking for a white car in dealer stock this spring as I've never seen one sitting on a dealer lot without a glass roof. I had to special order my car in 2017.
I wonder what other changes Porsche has implemented for 2021?

Hmmm....the configurator showed and still shows the old glass set-up. It would have been nice if it actually had shown the actual appearance/design. I would have preferred the prior set-up in fact might not have added a sun-roof had I known the actual design.

Perhaps this is fake news? Maybe the car was ordered like that? I have several friends with 2021MY cars that have the all black sunroof/roof.
Quick search of cars.com reflects many 2021MY cars with all black sunroof/roof.
Maybe this is just a Canadian thing?

I don’t remember any of the photos posted by members showing the change.

Where did you see this or are you going by the pictures?
Looking at your photo's I see transport protection still in some places, are you sure its not this?
My detailer specifically told them to leave mine in place until he had ceramic coated the car.....looks the same to me.

Uh oh, maybe I got excited for nothing? If the configurator is showing all glass, maybe this is wrap still on the glass but why would they put the plastic wrap on the front and back but not the sunroof itself? Regardless, I think it looks better.

Ah well...it's just transport film. I'm with you though...looks better. Although if I were ever to order a sunroof (extremely unlikely) I'd just go with metal.

Yes, me too, especially with the darker windows and aerokit in black on mine....it flows nicely.
