Anyone seen rates more recently? Getting closer to delivery. Thanks!

I closed a couple weeks ago (late July 2022). BofA quoted me 3.54% / PenFed 4.5%. Porsche Financial Services matched my BofA quote. 60 month term.

You should be putting down enough to get the auto loan below $100k. That will get you best rates and a much bigger universe of potential lenders.

The current rates are outside of the free money zone ("free" money being 3% or less). That being said, these rates are considerably better than what you'll be seeing later this year and in 2023. It's a good idea to do a 30 day rate lock once you've got a good idea as to when the car will be at the dealer. As I've said before, if you are waiting for delivery day to do your auto loan, you are doing it wrong for a multitude of reasons.

thanks for the insight. that $100k threshold aligns with my gut feel. i recently received my allocation in TYD so looking at a Christmas / New Year's delivery. will likely pay cash but looking around at loan options too. like to explore my options.

It was over $100k. I was worried about it being over after reading/hearing from others but seem to worked out just fine.

It didn’t affect the rate at my credit union if it was over $100k, you still get their best rate.

Yes. All glory to the "free" money. If you can get 3% or less, cash is dumb.
