Against some exterior colors, the aluminum trim almost recedes so it is more about highlighting the roof line than it is about its own bling. I am thinking that is particularly the case on light and silver cars. On a deep blue, I think the trim will pop rather than recede and I'd agree with others that it might work best matched with other bright bits, especialy a wheel choice.

Totally agree with all the comments on this thread. OP: I went through the same exact thing...toggling it on and off in the configurator dozens of times and in the end I decided to keep it. I think it blends nicely with the lighter colors and really pops with blue. I recently received my allocation and I'm going with the aluminum trim with Night Blue....Good Luck!

I agree dealer had them refinished for me (just painted silver + clear AFAIK) - not quite as perfect as OEM but OK.

Hi! I also just ordered a 992 in Night Blue which locks on 1/13. I have decided to opt for the chrome window trim. I think it looks really smart with the blues on the 992. Black and blue always looks odd to me. For example, I don't understand why anyone would put black rims and black trim on a blue car.
I've also picked Mojave Beige and Paldao wood - going for the grown up look.

I have Dolomite Silver ordered with chrome window trim also. I saw a pic on here with my exact build and thought it looked great, would of never even thought about it on my own. Lots of pics and good info available here. Thanks.

Look at most of the factory 911 show cars - they almost all have the aluminum window trim. They also like the Fuchs style wheels which show the brakes and suspension (Also easiest to keep clean)

For me, the aluminum window trim looks odd since it is only done around the side windows. If there was trim around the front and back glass, I might like it. I think appearance-wise, it makes the windows and greenhouse look smaller. However, I might spec it with the light silvers or whites.

I have a similar dilemma,...although given that is is a cheap option, I’m not overly worried, either way. A prior comment that I have heard is - the silver trim around the window makes it look less sporty, less aggressive. Something more suited to a sedan or SUV. The point being - as mentioned, I think it depends on the look you are going for? In my case, I chose to opt for the silver trim, as I think it highlights the curves of the back window, and the silver in classic Carrera rims. I also blacked out the red calipers because for me, I don’t like how they jump out at you and take away from the wheels. Some like thats look, but I don’t. This will be on an Adventurine Green exterior, so the the silver trim will be less pronounced, but adds a bit of class, IMO. Oh, and I do plan to tint the windows...30 or 35%...so the trim will stand out a bit more. As an aside, one reason I like tinted windows on this car...when you look at it from afar, I think your attention should be focused on the overall exterior lines of the car, and not the interior of the car....and I think the sweeping lines that are accented by the silver trim help keep the focus on the lines of the car...where it should be, IMO.

My C2 lock day is next Tuesday and I have just changed aventurine green to GT silver. Anyone here have regretted for adding the aluminum window trim for their GT silver after owning the car later ? (My wheel choice is the carrera s silver wheel)

I have AG, with the aluminum/silver window trim, with tinted windows (35%) …and it really adds a nice contrast. Very happy with the way it looks…but to each their own. Noted in my avatar pic. Oh, and goes with the silver trim on the rims.

When asking for input on my configuration, it was suggested I add the trim, especially since I was staying with the factory wheels. Glad I took their suggestion.
