I would not go aftermarket seats. I really want LWB. If they car is not offered in LWB, I'd be fine. What would tick me off is if I can't get them but then a month later they are made available.
My SA told me they got allocations through June last week. Considering the model year switchover is typically late July, I wonder if I'm SOL on a T allocation this year if I didn't get one in the massive wave that came through.

Are you suggesting that 992.2 comes out in July 2023?
Morning and Happy Holidays. Did Santa bring any news on LWB seats yet? With all these allocations hitting, including mine, i'm getting nervous about them.
Merry Xmas everyone. I got my allocation and my SA told me to finalize my build over the holiday, and he would "input" the buckets as soon as he submitted my build. He couldnt confirm they would be added, but hes been in close contact with the NA representative who told him to mark it on the build sheet and if they can do it they will. A little nervous about them too, but even without them this car is going to be really special. I think im actually going to option my car with the 18-way and have my SA mark down that I want the LWCB... if they arent available, I think I'd rather have the 18-way over the 4-way simply so I can increase the bolster on the bottom and shoulder area for track driving... I imagine you can create more of a "bucket" feel with the 18-way vs the 4-way... but I'd love feedback on that from people that have had them... My current 992 has the regular sport seats so im not familiar with the other seats.
And I know the 18-way are heavier... Im more concerned with being "hugged" by them vs. the weight because I won't be able to feel the difference in weight personally (not big enough difference to affect me).
This T allocation was the absolute best Xmas gift I could have asked for... but santa brought a few other Porsche goodies under the tree... hope he was good to everyone else!

I’m in the same boat with LWB’s being “noted for input” as well. Sounds questionable, but I definitely agree with @toph4242 that this will be a special car regardless of seating choice. My second choice is the 4 way seats and in spite of sitting in them for only about 7 minutes at a dealership, Im sure they will be fine for the driving I will do with this vehicle (no long trips). If I detest the seats I can just store them in my garage and go anftermarket. Again, wishing everyone here a joyous holiday season and happy new year!

The 18-ways don’t give more of a bucket feel I would say. Both have raised side bolsters and more pronounced moulding in the shoulder area. If you don’t have a regular second driver with a completely different seating position (like me and my wife) I would not add them and safe the money. Those basic seats are already brilliant. By far the best (normal) seats on the market.

I sat in them for a while this past Thursday, the 4 way seats are very comfortable and I'm glad I chose them. The seats I had in my 350Z were very comparable, seat height, backrest angle, fore/aft adjustment. I regularly took 6-8 hour trips in it no problem.

And @TomTarzian God bless you as well my friend. Always so kind. Blogs should have more of guys like you. My aunt was a patroller for 40 years and got me in to it. I tell everyone of all the things I've done in my life, patrolling is the most gratifying thing I've done. In 21 years on the hill, thankfully I've only been involved in one lifesaving incident, the rest are all fall injuries (shoulders, wrists, knees, ankles). I did get involved in trying to save an elderly woman's life in cardiac arrest with CPR. Unfortunately she didn't survive. Turned out she was the mother of a judge I regularly appear before as an attorney. She thanked me profusely for being there when her Mother needed it most. Merry Christmas RennListers, hope you are all well, happy, safe, warm and with family and/or friends.

I love cross country skiing.
Cant downhill for a lick, but have done overnight cross country skiing trips in Yosemite.

Hoping they have a few more in the production pipeline for you and everyone else still waiting.
Now THAT would be cool to hut ski in Yosemite! Telemarking isn't downhill (Alpine) but instead Nordic skiing. It's how the Norse travelled from village to village. Climb up one side, ski down the other. Here ya go, me in action.

Is Porsche's M.O. typically run a special T model at the end of the production of 99x.1 then discontinue it after 99x.2 comes out? And "typically" I guess in retrospect, means only the 991 T historically.

I was a ski instructor in college. I learned A LOT in that job. I've considered patrolling but never lived close enough to do it. Maybe in retirement.
