Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but the installation has failed not on the AWE piece, but I cannot get the inside plastic piece to lock on the side/end facing towards the front of the vehicle. I tried pushing down and in per the instructions but it only clicks in on the part that faces the rear of the car. Anybody else have this happen and have a suggestion for fixing it?

Mark, passenger or driver's or both? Can you DM me a pic of the backside of the part if you were unable to install it?

For some reason I was unable to send the pictures via DM, so I'm posting here instead.

The end of the trim piece that isn't clicking back into place.

The tabs on the part connected to the door

The slots on the trim piece that aren't connecting to the tabs in the other picture.

Mark, unclip the LCA indicator from the top of the door panel and then clip it into the trim piece, then reinstall the entire unit by pushing down and forward slightly (mostly down) and it should click in. It should hang gently by the LCA indicator wire so don't try to disconnect it. You may need to use a soft plastic trim panel removal tool to avoid damage to plastic tabs. When I removed the interior trim cover, the entire unit with the LCA indicator popped out and then popped back in.

That seems to have worked--thanks, Ryan!

I had this same problem and it took me a while to figure out the problem. I think the printed instructions that say to use a trim tool resulted in popping the two parts apart rather than releasing the complete unit. On the passenger side I went with the video instructions which shows removing by gripping the trim piece and pivoting it back and forth and up. It came out easily and went back in on the first try.

Fitted mine today, easy. The care taken to design and package these is obvious, and now I can drive my car with the window down without thinking twice. Excellent

Yes initially mine were also harder to get locked back in than upon initial removal. Got them both reinstalled with a bit of pressure downward and forward to get them secured on the door end while also catching the upper attachement slot. Looks great and a very easy DITY mod that is also very functional. Took these pics to show important points of install abs mounting points! Hope that helps you guys.

Post install reward included w/Foiler package. Thanks AWE!

Required tools for install

Removed inner triangle

Torx T20 screw removal

Removed triangle

Internal triangle landmarks - see tabs and screw attachment point

Securing foiler

Completed driver’s side AWE Foiler installed

Thank you @markchristenson for asking exactly the right question for the problem I was having with my foiler installation. Thank you to @ryandarr1979 for answering it. What a great community.

In order to get my covering trim to snap back into my indicator fully I wound up disconnecting the small wiring harness to fully remove it from the car and do it with better access. Once it was back on the whole assembly snapped fully into place and I no longer have loose interior triangles.

Any sales coming in on these? Looks like a like buy....at $50 or so imho.

And why is the fitment so poor on these AWE?

I'm sure they are made in China for like $1 each, can you do a tad better?

Would seriously like to consider them, but not how they appear now.

I've had them fitted for months now, they look stock. No better or worse than the factory part, dead easy to fit and they fix the buffeting issue.

Fitment is spot on and look and feel is OEM quality. Considering you’re asking for a deal on a set, you clearly don’t have them yourself so how can you comment with any credibility and accuracy on quality and fitment? Given how low volume this is for AWE, how are you balking at the price? These are for a vehicle that premium high end vehicle that Porsche only sells about 10k of a year, not like a Camry that Toyota sells 400k of. How come Porsche 911 owners tend to be such cheap bastards?

Simple: It's how we accumulated enough to afford one!
