Skip the dealer and go straight to a Porsche approved body shop. There is not a single employee at any dealership that would do a better job than the body shop will. The body shop has the correct solvents to remove the adhesive, the correct polishes and polishers to correct the paint where the emblems were to perfection and the correct templates to ensure the emblems are placed in the correct location.

I removed my silver P O R S C H E emblem myself and replaced it with gloss black. Additionally I debadged the remainder of the the emblems. Was a very easy job to do. FWIW, the 992 P O R S C H E emblems are nearly $300, however you can get the 991.2 P O R S C H E emblems for about $100. The size and shape of the emblems is identical. The only difference in the 992 emblem is that there are small plastic "spikes" on the back of each letter to assist in aligning the letters onto the trim. They are really not necessary.

Your $700 dollar bill will be closer to $400 all in.

Actually, this is exactly who does it. My dealership simply contracts this work out to a body shop.

The regular Porsche letters are pretty much interchangeable. I got OEM letters off eBay for $35. Installation could not be easier - it comes with the template. The 992 Carrera S logo is easy to install because it's big pieces. I can't fathom spending hundreds of dollars to pay someone to install this, to be honest. It's really just a sticker - don't let it psych you out.

I did the model designation on my 992 a few days ago (to black). Very easy to do. Just use tape to mark the position, remove with heat and dental floss, clean the residue, and reinstall. For the model designation the 911 Carrera script is all one piece. The adhesive works very well. For what it’s worth, I called several dealers in my area and none had templates for the 992 yet. I figured if they are going to do it by hand I might as well just do it myself.

My concern is with how I ordered my car. I ordered the 911 logo in gloss black, I have clear tail lights but didn't think about ordering the PORSCHE letters in black. I know I can replace them, but do any of you think this looks odd? I think it works with the clear tail lights.

Personally, I like the logos matched. In real life, it may not be a big deal.

As a comparison. Both logos in black with clear taillights.

^ Loving that

I have to say, had I got mine custom made I would’ve opted for it saying just “911” like yours does

This brings us back to your original question. Just go for it. It's a very easy task for your dealer. Nothing bad can happen. Easy like add/remove any sticker and pretty sure there is a paintwork specialist at your dealer
