^ I would agree, but I think it is more than just a shortcut to S+

When driving in S+ it also downshifts immediately and the RPMs climb when you push the SRB. So it seems to be something even more aggressive than S+ mode

What does it do if you are in manual mode?

I wonder if this is an outcome of most transmissions being fairly reactive to your current driving style. In my C63, if you’re cruising along, even in S+, eventually the transmission will pick up on that and won’t hold at the top of the rev range anymore like when you’re actively braking and accelerating. Perhaps the PDK is similar. I’d be interested to know if dialing from Comfort to S+ at the same speed would put the PDK in the same gear as the SRB does while already in S+.

The manual crowd isn’t worried about maximum acceleration - clearly - as everyone knows the PDK is quicker. For them, it’s about the “driving experience” and all that stuff.
