^ I would agree, but I think it is more than just a shortcut to S+
When driving in S+ it also downshifts immediately and the RPMs climb when you push the SRB. So it seems to be something even more aggressive than S+ mode

I wonder if this is an outcome of most transmissions being fairly reactive to your current driving style. In my C63, if you’re cruising along, even in S+, eventually the transmission will pick up on that and won’t hold at the top of the rev range anymore like when you’re actively braking and accelerating. Perhaps the PDK is similar. I’d be interested to know if dialing from Comfort to S+ at the same speed would put the PDK in the same gear as the SRB does while already in S+.

I hear you. My car did feel a bit more violent with the button but that’s subjective and could def be PDK games with a bit higher rpm limits/shift points. It also doesn’t make sense to me why they wouldn’t give the manual guys the button for a little extra boost if that was any part of it.
