How are y'all wiring your dash cams to hide the cables while preventing interference with the airbags?
open up panels and run wires along factory looms whenever possible 👍

more effort, but safer and “OEM”

Any tips on removing the A pillar Moe? I can unlatch its upper push catch by pulling the trim away from the pillar but then Im stuck 😳 I thought pulling the trim up to the ceiling might unlatch it but it doesn't want to shift 🥵

Check out the first video in post #1 of this thread, it shows how to remove the A pillar cover. Be sure to read a little further down in the post where the OP shares his experience with removing the cover.

Default Question

I purchased the garmin mini 2, along with a uniden radar & blendmount with the mirror tap cord for the radar. My question: being that I'm already mirror tapping my radar, is it still possible to mirror tap the dash cam as well? If so, what else might I need? TIA

Garmin Mini2 - I have them in all 3 of our cars. Pretty much invisible until you need it.

The mirror tap provides 12v to your radar detector- typically dash cams operate at 5v from a usb source.

You will need a converter to reduce the voltage.

Makes sense and thanks. So is there an easy (meaning tidy) way to run power off the mirror or does one need to run a line up the A pillar and across the headliner? I cant stand wires hanging down from the windshield to the console exposed.

DC-DC 12V to 5V 3A Micro USB...
Amazon Amazon

you can use this device - connect to 12v from mirror tap - u can “bury” it behind the overhead lighting panel

Thanks. This was the spoon feeding I was looking for. Since I'm doing a blendmount mirror tap for the V1, is there still room to wedge these wire in too or is there another spot available? I plan. to post some DIY screenshots so maybe somebody could pin it after I'm done.
