I assume you use a back-up camera with that? Is it easy to line up the grid lines to end up in the right spot?

No, I just line up the center of the car with a spot on the wall, and pull forward until I hit the bump stop. I use the camera backing out, which is downhill and to the passenger side.

What would you all say is the sufficient garage width to be able to comfortably get in and out of the 992 without risk of hitting the doors?

That's dependent upon your own physical size and how much you need to open the door to slither out.
It's wide, but there are wider vehicles out there.

So my garage is 12 feet wide, the door itself is 8 feet. I have no issues getting the 992 in and out of the garage door. Now getting in and out of the car could be a tight squeeze. lol
I am not the biggest guy, 5'7, but even at that, opening the door and getting out, gotta be careful and do a slight sideways exit. I put some pool foam noodles on the wall, so the door won't hit the wall.

I don't think I would want to go with a width any less than 12 feet.

Thank you. That’s very helpful. I’m the same height as you. We just looked at a house with a garage that has an eight-foot door, but the interior of the garage itself is only just over 10 feet.

At 10’ in width, that will be a tight squeeze to get in and out of the car. The 992 doors are really long.
If getting the 992 is a priority, might need to rethink the house. Or rethink the 992.

The 992 is a given at this point.

Not totally sure we want to take on a garage rebuild, though I suppose there's a price at which it would make sense.

The 992 is considered wide only by European journalists whose reference points are Peugeots and mini Coopers. There are some American journalists who want to signal their pedigree by comparing modern 911s to 993s and older models. In the real world, these cars have a small footprint. I remember parking next to a Jaguar Ftype sedan and made the mistake of glancing back at my 992 and was almost embarrassed at how much of a stature the F type had, next to my S.
And, don’t worry about the doors. You don’t need to open them wide to get in and out.
Bring your 992 home and live life as you were meant to.

I have a 32' W x 24' D garage being built soon. One 14' door and one 10' wide door (Porsche spot). There likely won't be any internal wall being built on the driver's side so not a problem. I agree, the door does open nearly 180 degrees from the body of the car so yeah, WIDE!
