Default $145,000 C2S Configuration

Playing around today on the configurator today and I created this:

http://www.porsche-code.com/PM7KT598

Thought it was interesting that the price came to exactly $145,000 with the variety of options I added. Usually the last 3 numbers aren’t all zeroes. Made me think of Porsche 000 Magazine. I showed it to my wife. She didn’t think it was as cool as I think it is. Lol.

Wives (or husbands or significant others) can be funny like that!

My wife is totally supportive of me getting the car, but she wouldn’t care at all about that, either :-)

That is cool—and I love that magazine.

What a beautiful car. Not to start anything, but many have posited the Burmeister is not worth the expense . . .

Great looking build, my only suggestion is drop the Burmeister (go upgraded bose) and get RAS... I have RAS on my C4S MT and I love it in tight spaces. I am sure it is good for track as well, but the turning radius on this thing is nuts with RAS and such a bit wide car.

It's a sign you have to buy it.

I should have added that my wife is totally supportive too. When I showed her the pictures of this build, the first words out of her mouth were “it’s gorgeous”. Then she said I’ll look good sitting in the passenger seat when she’s driving. It’s great that she can drive a manual.

Several people mentioning to drop the Burmester. For me, the manual transmission and the Burmester are two things that must be on the car. Burmester is worth the extra $ over the Bose. And if I didn’t get it, I’d always regret it. I’ve wanted a 911 since I was 10 years old. Now 40 years later I’m in a financial position where I can do it. I tend to keep my cars a long time so this will probably be the only new 911 I ever buy. Thus I want it exactly the way I want it.

As to the full leather, I probably will go with that too. I do need to see both in person. When I toggle between standard and full leather on the configurator, the differences seem so minor that I’m not sure it’s worth it. Seems like the biggest change is the leather dash. If I do go with full leather, I’ll jump up to the Club Leather. I love the look of the truffle brown. Adds a more unique and special look to the interior.

Thanks for the input on the RAS. I have thought about this and need to drive both to see if it’s something I truly want. Reading the forums you get both sides as always and seems it’s split 50:50. Although most people who say it’s not needed are those who I don’t think actually have it. My budget for the car is to keep it below $150,000 so RAS may still make the list.

Color is another thing I’m still deciding on. I want a classic Porsche color. And I want a color that 10 years from now still looks like it belongs. I’m not a red person so Guards Red is out even though it’s very much a classic color. I go between Jet Black Metallic and GT Silver Metallic. I know the joys of maintaining a black car (it really is a joy as I find it very relaxing). But then I see GT Silver and I’m swayed that way. This will actually be the most difficult decision.

I’ve also considered Aventurine because I’ve always liked green cars. Not a classic color and not sure how it will look 10 years from now. It may actually be looked at very positively because it will still be unique. I do wish they offered a dark green like Irish or Brewster,

Aventurine Green is a very dynamic color. I get a lot of compliments on my choice. It looks sophisticated — people have asked me if it is a PTS color. There are already enough black and silver 911s in the world.

So true about black and silver. My current stable of vehicles includes 2 silver, 1 black, 1 blue, and 1 white. I specifically chose all except for the white one. That was a used vehicle we were buying and just happened to be white. That one vehicle is the last white vehicle I will ever own. I literally hate it. It’s actually more difficult to keep clean than black. And it’s sooooo boring. Doesn’t help that it’s on a RAV4 either.

I do need to see Aventurine in person. It doesn’t look the best on the configurator. I have seen pictures on here where it looks very nice.

Some things are just not worth sharing. Like my signature says “ My biggest fear is that I’ll die and my wife will sell my Turbo for what I said I paid for it.“ it’s good to have a few small secrets.
