I have the Burmester and it does not have TIDAL built-in afaik - like you i am on Android, and have the same disappointment with the lack of native Android Auto integration in the PCM (which is total BS for a 2020 model given other VW group vehicles have android auto support and Porsche even went as far as to build a aftermarket retrofit with Android Auto for older models).

Do you mean to listen to Tidal in your car? If your car system doesn't have an inbuilt Tidal app, you can directly use Bluetooth or CarPlay to do the same. Alternatively, you can try to play Tidal in the car using a USB. With USB, you should first download music from Tidal to local files and then transfer downloaded Tidal files to USB for playback in the car offline.

Burmester does not have Tidal "built in".
Through Apple CarPlay you can listen to Spotify, Tidal and Qobuz; also Amazon Music, Apple Music and Berlin Philarmonic.
With Apple CarPlay switched on (in place ot the PCM), the quality of Qobuz (I have a subscription in Hi-Res) is very good.
Qobuz allows you to download musical files (your favourites) to you iPhone in Hi-Res if you have the Hi-Res subscription to Qobuz. Then you no longer need a live Internet connection when you want to listen to the music

I use Tidal with Burm over CarPlay and don’t feel like the quality is better when plugged in vs OTA. In fact, I notice no discernible improvement in quality compared to lossy Apple Music. I wonder if CarPlay compresses by default.

Yes, I found the same thing – PCM is limited to Amazon Music and Apple Music – I couldn't find a way to light up Tidal or Spotify, or anything else for that matter.
