Still, far better than the frunk issues folks are having on the new C8 Corvette with it auto-popping and flying up at speed. It has a two-stage latch, but they are BOTH electronic. Not pretty when the hood gets bent back into the windshield at 60 mph.
Woah, that is not good. Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Comfort access - demystified. Central Locking section of Owner's Manual, page 66: "In order to prevent the battery from discharging, unused comfort functions are progressively turned off. The vehicle can then be unlocked using the vehicle key."

My hunch is that on cars that don't get driven daily, comfort access eventually shuts down, and operation of the doors and frunk reverts to the key or the lid button near the driver's door sill.

BTW, on my car it shuts off after about 24 hours.

On older 911s, as in 997, this happened after several days. My 992 sits for 2-3 days at a time and the comfort access still works so I'm thinking it's similar.

Nope. Car driven daily. Comfort access is just flakey on our car...and apparently more than a few others. I mistakenly reminded my wife today when she couldn’t get the door to open that I thought it was a bad idea to add it to our order (she really wanted it). I really do know better lol.

I hate the 992 door handles. mine works <30% of the time, & will occasionally refuse to extend no matter what I do.
This "feature" is a PITA & I wish Porsche offered it as an option (for those who want it).

This video completely solved frunk comfort access for me. This technique works every time for me now. Door handle does also every time I put my fingers up under the handle just touching the inside.

Thanks, smiles11!

A bit unrelated, but I just learned something new about my 991 this weekend I was previously unaware of... I guess in retrospect it's kind of obvious and most owners might already know this, but:

Pulling the emergency frunk release inside the frunk pops the rear engine cover!

As i said, makes sense, but wasn't aware...

Tried a couple of different ways and found the back of hand from bottom towards creast seems to work very well. Thanks for the suggestions!! Also, bought a $10 mini garage door opener that works 100% of the time.....but we won't talk about that!!

Anyone here knows how to disable the frunk release button? In case say someone breaks into your car and uses the frunk release and they won't be able to open it?

To disable the remote when washing your car press and hold the lock and unlock button at the same time on your remote, the fob will flash a few times. Press any button to reenable.

Go into the comfort access menu on the pcm and enable “unlock on approach”.

An alternative is to just leave the key fob inside the vehicle.

Yeah I learned that the hard way! Key must stay in the garage, lol.
