Default Can’t revise build (?)

Even though I have two months until my lock date, my SA reports being unable to update my build for the past week because there’s an issue with the Porsche website. Has anyone else come across this? trying to add front axle lift, sports package, etc.

Well, as long as you’re not locked you should be fine. It does seem like their systems have been jacked up—the TYD stuff was showing interim transportation steps as occurring after the final arrival at the dealer. Looks like system-wide they are having issues.

I think if you’ve got 2 months until lock, you should have plenty of time to run this up the flag pole to ensure your changes get made (though it is an annoying hiccup to have to deal with).

I made changes to my spec a couple of days ago as mine locks on September 11th or earlier, so the OP's should be fine.

Should not be an issue...We made changes up to two days of locking.

My order has a "lock" date of 11/3, and hopefully, I come to some final decision on the build much before that. But I have read about some people who had their lock dates moved up. I was wondering how many have had this happen to them and was it only a few days, or can it potentially potentially lock weeks earlier with a possible earlier completion date?

Our build was expedited by months, but it was ordered prior to Covid-19 production reopening. Our original delivery was going to be 01/02/21, but our build is on a ship with our delivery estimated 09/18/20...We believe our order was unique as when ordered everything was in limbo. If you look at TYD, all dates are estimates...Best bet is to monitor with TYD, but more importantly with your dealer.

Just wondering if your dealer reached out to you with the updates, or was it a pleasant :"surprise" on checking the TYD site?

Our dealer was very helpful, but we understood from the get go, they were going through unprecedented times with a skeleton crew...We got their first 2021 - 992 allocation...We monitored TYD methodically and if we had any questions we shot off an e-mail...Dealer more than not responded immediately, even reaching out when closed.

Mine was a surprise move up of 2 weeks. Was (obsessively, TBF) checking TYD one morning.and noted the change. Instead of 2.5 weeks to make some final decisions, had 2 days . . .

After 2 weeks, three emails and 1 phone call with my SA, my build was not updated....

Therefore, reached out to PCNA. The day they contacted my SA my build was immediately updated...

it’s like pulling teeth- am I wrong or should this not be happening? I thought they were quite good but now I’m wondering ...

You definitely aren’t wrong. Any good SA who prides themselves on providing timely service should a) have no issue promptly updating your build and communicating with you accordingly, and b) should welcome constructive feedback concerning how they can improve their service.

I say this taking into account that life gets crazy for people, including SAs, and humans make mistakes. All fair and good, and I believe in being gracious and understanding whenever possible.

However: Unresponsiveness, leaving clients in the dark, and simply not doing one’s job is pretty lame.
