Default Chalk owners - opinion

Finalizing my TTS build; Got it narrowed down to Jet Black, or Chalk;
Saw Chalk this weekend in person (on a Cayenne) under grey clouds, and it looked very 'earthy', not nearly as off white, or chalky as the name suggests.
Every picture however, Chalk looks very warm, and a nice color.

Chalk owners, are you happy with your choice? Is it more often than not 'off white', versus 'sand brown'?

I find it similar to fashion grey. It will look more off white than brown for sure, and it’s truly only noticeable when it’s side-by-side with a “true” white car.

I’d definitely go chalk over black myself.

Can’t go wrong of course & color is easily the most personal option of them all. So trust your taste.

I am totally in the Chalk over Black camp for that car. Chalk is a more interesting color that shows up differently under various lighting conditions.

FWIW there's another Chalk thread on here from a couple of weeks ago discussing the color and how it looks. I had Chalk on my last Porsche and loved it. Beautiful, interesting color. In most light it's a very, very light grey though in direct sunlight it's more whitish. Never had as many compliments on a color as I did Chalk.

I rarely get any kind of an earthy vibe w my chalk 992... perhaps if you go with a brown or green interior some of that comes out more? The color I think of most is a military gray I used to see on the f106’s that patrolled over my house where I grew up...

I have a Chalk Macan. It's a great color. Most of the time it looks like a very light gray. However, every once in a while it takes on a tannish tint. I get a ton of compliments on it, and it pairs very well with a black/red interior. One of the Rennlisters has a Chalk 992 Cab with a blue top and interior. It looks amazing.

If you are OCD about a clean car like me then go for chalk. My chalk 992 has gotten more compliments on it's color than any car I have ever owned.

Ever since some random guy complimented my car and told me about this, I'll always think of this color as what they paint machine tools:

I vote for chalk or any white over black in the 992 because the lighter colors clearly accentuate the rear engine cover and rear windshield integration which to me is signature 992. and if getting the glass roof its even more so.

I wanted Chalk until I saw it in cloudy weather a few times. That 'earthy' tone you mention was off-putting to me.

I have chalk. Love it. Doesn't look white at all in person. More like a flat, light grey.

I have a 2018 TTS in Chalk. Absolutely love the color -- when I saw it in person it was the main reason I traded in my previous TTS (night blue metallic), and I do get compliments about the color. I second the notion that it's similar to fashion grey, which is also stunning. And, it doesn't easily get "dirty" looking.
