Default Rear Lid Grille Vertical Slat Inlays in Exterior Color

I am curious about what this looks like in the flesh. I have the "vertical slat inlays in exterior color" option checked on my configuration and this is the resulting image:

Vertical Slat Inlays in Exterior Color

Unless I'm going crazy (which is possible), this photo only has the top edge of the slats painted. I thought the sides of the slats would also be painted as well?

Is the configurator not showing this properly and/or does anyone have a photo of their 992 with painted vertical slats that they could share?

Each slat has an inlay that is normally piano black (C2/S) or silver (C4/S). If you have them painted. It will look as it does in your illustration.

Take a look at this thread - https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1163...s-painted.html

I am not convinced that it is fully painted (like the GTS in the pic you see), I think it may be just the top part as you are seeing, as all the images I have seen has been slight coloring as you are indicating.

My personal perspective, having a CWM 992, I would not want more of the exterior color on the car, as the contrast is nice. The rear of the car with the new design has a lot more color / body color than previous generations, and you could end up looking wonky if the whole darn rear is one color.

The Blue (miami/mexico) in the pic, does not look horrible, with that said. But I would not want the full rear slats painted white on mine, having the car in person now for a while, not an option I would want to risk. Plenty of color on the rear, and the contrast is good.

Ps. I bought my car off the lot, and one option that it had was the side mirrors in all exterior colors, I wish this was not the case/not an option on my car. I think the contrasting White/Black would look better than the all white side mirrors. I like a little contrast, and with the black sun roof, I also tinted the windows, and the darker spyder wheels (not black though). I think more contrast breaks it up a bit.

I ticked that box on my Miami Blue car. I think it's going to be great, but it is just the top surface, not the entire slat.

I think that will also look great in your Miami Blue car. I'm trying to determine if it makes sense on a chalk colored targa when the default is silver.

I did it on my aventurine green C2S. I am using in my avatar, but it is probably not noticeable to others. I see it because I ordered it. If your paint choice is a bright or white color, it would stand out and look good, IMO.

Just for reference, here is my Carrara White Metallic C4s and the rear slats are silver, but kindof look whiteish in pics. They are almost a brushed silver look that is a standarn/non option..

Yes, great pic and shows how nice it can look with a light or bright color.

This is exactly what I needed to see. I agree, the silver looks great with the white. Thank you.

I have seen the flesh and IMO they look amazing. FWIW the rear slat area is very prone to water spotting and I highly recommend a ceramic coating for plastics such as Cquartz DLUX.

AWD cars get silver slats by default. It's one of the tells if you're trying to figure out whether a 992 is a C2S or C4S.

My RY C2. IMO, a nice transition from the black of the rear window to the solid color of the spoiler
