That is STILL true? Because I used to come out that way all the time when I worked (computers) and I would love to see light traffic in that area. I also ask because even the rural(ish) town I live in was like that in the beginning (Mar-April) but now has the same nut jobs out driving now in force and traffic is just as bad as always. Fortunately being in a small town the only time I idle is at a red light.

there is a tiny bit more traffic than the height of the lock down, but I can go from San Jose to San Francisco (and across the GG Bridge) and never once hit stop and go traffic still now...

I have yet had to split lanes on my motorcycle in the past 4 months as an added bonus.

That truly is impressive; I wish I could see it AND drive it. The last time I was in San Diego I drove up to Laguna Beach on a Sunday around noon and came back about 4pm and could NOT believe the amount of traffic just on a Sunday. Enjoy it while it lasts Sam.

the 280 is like the German Autobahn at times... even at 100mph I'm being passed up by Priuses.

In college I had a Nissan Sentra and on the 280 South there was a slight downhill before my exit. Sometimes, just to see what the car could do, I would "punch it." Down the hill, with a bit of a tailwind, the best I ever hit was 96 mph.

Not that Boston. The original one.

Although I would be happy to give it a go!
Massachusetts to the Languedoc.
That would be an adventure.

Daily Driver, with COVID probably 5-6k per year, normally around 10-12k, Not as concerned about resale as I plan to keep this car until my daughters graduate from college (about 4 years)

Back in the early 2000s, I was commuting up to SF from Palo Alto on 280 early in the morning every day around 6am. Road was pretty empty back then. I'd get it up to about 120 and just fly up into the city. On two different occasions, I passed a car while doing well over 100, only to realize that it was a CHP. Both times, they raced up to me and yelled at me to slow down through the loudspeaker, but didn't even bother to pull me over. Those were the good old days...

This is my daily driver. Between our 4 cars the wife and I do 45k-50k miles per year. I run my business from the house so commuting not an issue but generally drive to Manhattan and Philly and various airports quite often from rural PA - so will do about 15k miles per year easily in the 992 just like my BMWs before it. Already drove the 992 into Manhattan during a blizzard back in Dec on snow tires which was 'exciting'. Doing my first ever track event in Sep which should be fun. And literally couldn't care less about resale - the more miles I put on the 992 the more I have enjoyed it.

Thank you! Bought my Snell helmet months in advance for my 'beginners day' up at Pocono with PCA - can't wait and would have done something sooner but for COVID.

Yeah, think about it this way: the more miles you put on your car, the less your cost per mile will be

Originally expected it to be a DD with at least 10k miles pa, but I'm not seeing clients F2F now nor travelling to other offices. Car was delivered on 19th Dec and has currently done 3,600 miles as most of March, April and May was lockdown.

It's on a 3 year finance deal (balloon payment at month 36) and was never sure if I would keep it that long, but would only change maybe for a GTS if released in that period.

Interestingly, now that I haven't done many miles, I am FAR more sensitive to mileage, and have found myself looking at approved used ("CPO"??) cars and pricing mine based on low mileage cars.

My friend got his C4S cab in March and has done 300 miles since! He's looking to change to a Portofino already.

Maybe its Covid and the possibility of redundancy and needing to get out of the car, but certainly I am more worried now about mileage than I ever have been with another car 😫

Help me?!
