I usually get irritated when a car is in the shop, but with a 992 as a backup I think I’d be okay with it :-)

We received a small check from AAA, but it was nominal. They rate (among other things) based on a range of miles driven a year, so I’m assuming we can probably submit our miles for re-evaluation here again soon.

Daily Driver, in Alaska.

I expect I’ll get ~8,000miles a year, judging by my previous vehicles.

After owning a BMW 5 Series I no longer am concerned about a Porsche’s depreciation. Nothing could possibly hurt me the way BMW did.

DD

8K yr

not worried about mileage / resale - plan to keep it for a long time. Recently sold my 997 (to get ready for June 2020 Euro Delivery of 992 C2S ) - it had well over 150,000 miles. Looking forward to a June 2021 Euro Delivery!

Wow, having never owned a BMW (almost got a 2001 M3 but went with an Audi S4 instead) I had no idea it was even worse. How many months are you able to drive in Alaska? I used snow tires on my C4S and loved it but had to be concerned about ground clearance and not getting stuck that way (high centered).

I think you loved your 997 even more than I did my 996. Good (better?) luck with the 2021 Euro Delivery.

This is definitely my daily driver. While I expect to put about 12K miles per year, in the first month I have only put on 700, due to working from home. I am planning on keeping this for years and years, as the beginning of my (hopefully) collection, so not worried about resale.

DD and was the largest decision in going with a 911, it absolutely nails the sweet spot of fun but full of technology and creature comforts for everyday use.

Will probably put 7-8k per year on the car.

This (C4S) is my first Porsche and will be my DD if we ever start daily driving again! I will drive it year round (bought a set of snow tires and wheels) but if I have to go out on a really bad weather day I have an SUV for that. I figure 8-9k miles a year, just because of spreading the miles around (when things were "normal" I would drive the SUVs at least once a week even if no bad weather). As for resale - I'll get what I get IF I sell it (only reason to do that is if I can't drive at all or to trade it in on a newer one). I don't let that sort of thing decide how much I'll drive it.

A hybrid of DD and WW (speaking about my 718 and the topic in general, do not own a 992 at this time). I commute in it 9 months of the year; largely parked when temps below 40F as I only have the one set of wheels/summer tires. I confess to pampering it a little and avoiding rainy days. I put about 6,000 miles annually on the Porsche and about 12,000 annually on the DD, a 2012 Audi A6. When the Audi dies, I would consider a 992 4S with a second set of wheels/tires as a year around DD.

I purchased mine as a WW. So I also purchased a 3 series BMW to do the miles.

The 3 series in now sat on the drive doing nothing and I have completed 8,000 miles in 6 months in the 992.

So the 992 is definitely a DD. It is far more useable and economical than I thought it would be. I dont care about the mileage- bring it on.

I am going to the South of France this Friday in the 992!

One this I can say, that is truly unique to this car for me is I took delivery just before Covid lock down, and I can honestly say the 8069 miles I've driven now in close to 7 months have been almost all completely without any traffic... the car has not idled traffic so much as once that I can recall... since everything I read about wear and tear and engine health talks about frequent short trips, and idling in traffic being bad, I'd say these re very healthy miles vs my usual SF Bay Area car at the same milage.
