Reduced once 5kg per wheel on a BMW. Huge difference, much better handling, accelerating, braking, everything.

Same on my 993, there i switched from Turbo-Look to Turbo-wheels. Roughly around 2kg per corner. Not dramatic, but definitely noticeable.

Imagine going PCCB and HRE and loosing 10kg per corner. That makes a HUUUGE difference. Whole different car.

For those with steel brakes, here is an informative video from Essex on the AP racing competition brake kits. Lighter weight and more stopping power.

^ From the still images it appears that they catch on fire and glow like they're radioactive.

uhhh ...another potentially significant weight vs performance consideration is how much all you ( mandatory) drivers weigh ( vs optional passengers ) ...I weigh ~ 118 lbs at 5 ft 11 inches ...many of you prob weigh as much or more than the COMBINED weights of me and my 5ft 8 inches passenger wife : 220 lbs !

You need a sandwich. And why are you even bothering to read a thread about weight saving options? I'm at the other end of the spectrum, but I've lost almost 40lbs this year. I'm not sure how much that has improved my car's performance, but I can definitely feel it when I'm moving myself around.

Since retiring back in my 50s , I work out 2-4 hrs a day in my gyms in my two homes , everyday starting at 4am and also on vacations ( and Porsche Club overnight trips where I've been spotted in hotel gym when other drivers drunkenly stagger back to their rooms at 11pm ! ) I eat whatever I want , but its mostly healthy food , but my friends know that I can down an entire large deep dish mushroom/truffle pizza at Little Star in SF or two orders hot 1/2 chickens at Hattie Bs in Nashville or 48 or more 60cent each happy hour buffalo wings at Za's in Tahoe City if I feel like it !

my wife has to eat to not lose weight ...always been that way ..has always driven her female colleagues nuts ...she could eat an entire deep dish pizza every day and not gain a pound ...she has almost never exercised in the 38 yrs I've known her and weighs the same or a few pounds less
we love going out to eat ...servers look at us and then fall over when we order 2-3 appetizers, largest entrees ( or split / finish off a 48-60 oz cowboy rib eye ) and 2-3 desserts between the two of us , lol .

my wife says I'm shaped like one of my guitar heroes , Thurston Moore ( when he was younger ) ..all bony long arms/legs ...but so is she

PCCB's for sure to lighten that rotating, unsprung mass... usually considered 4:1 to sprung mass? 40 = 160 lbs? Then lightweight wheels. And while I am not as familiar with the 992 exhaust weight, going from a stock exhaust to catless titanium x-pipes on my 996 Turbo dropped over 40 pounds,

if one's ultimate goal is stopwatch measured improvements in part/full throttle acceleration or track times , mass reduction here and there may help ..otoh , if the end goal is a noticeable subjective improvement in everyday " nimbleness " putzing around town , commuting or driving 5/10ths on curvy road ..the cheapest most effective way may well be first speccing the smallest oem diameter wheel/ tire set up and skipping the smaller thicker optional sport steering wheel , the latter filtering out more of the road feel irrespective of type of steering rack

Interesting you mention road feel. I just switched from Continental tires to PS4s on my Mercedes and immediately noticed I had much better road feel with the Michelins. Car weight is noticeable even on the street when turning or switching lanes. But this is very dependent on the driver and their track experience.

People are surprised at how much track driving translates to road driving. All my kids have been on the track. I also highly recommend “Street Survival” programs. I instructed for these for several years and was amazed at how the kids became more confident with their cars in only a few hours.

I weighed my C2S today. CF roof, insulated glass, 4 way sport plus seats, PDK, carerra S wheels. With a little over 1/2 a tank of gas in my extended range tank, it weighed 3380 without driver. Gasoline weighs 6lbs per gallon and I had conservatively 12 gallons so dry weight would be 3308 lbs. completely stock. I'll try to keep up the weight measurements as I upgrade items on the car, but I now have a baseline. And, I have RAS so that means lithium battery.

From my Auto-X days. Run ALL fluids as low as possible. This is a major weight savings. Gasoline (6.3 lbs/gal), Water (~8 lbs/gal) includes: Cooling System Overflow/Surge Tank and Windshield Washer Fluid. Engine Oil 1 Qt Low (Dry Sump only), A/C Refrigerant (~3-5 lbs), etc.

Thank you - this is very helpful for estimating the weight of my car.

A 40 lbs weight loss is felt.

And, I ask this: how much more does the Burmester system weigh than the Bose system? Help.
40lbs weight loss is felt how?! I’m very skeptical of that claim.
