I would bet 1/4 to 1/5 of 2021s will be manual. My 21 order is a manual. I’d buy one right now off the lot if there were one out there relatively close to my ideal build.
Porsche estimates in the US is about 10% (non GT3) will be manual, so very few are being ordered...

My understanding is they traded one of their Taycan’s for this.

this car would be considered well-equipped if it were still 2011.

992 MT, prob 10% of production; few in US, some CPO some not (new warr) / You tube has tests in EURO showing its slower than PDK, nothing new there...
But the experience/involvement is worth the 0.2 sec handicap! Cars.com has some listed ~300 in U.S. C2S or C4S (rarer)

It's slower of the mark because of lauch control. At higher speeds it's (slightly) faster because of less weight and higher efficiency. That's why usually Vmax is higher in manual cars.

Interesting article. Yet another reason why manufacturers really want manuals to go away.

I get the point of the article (and have watched some but not all of the video) but my initial reaction is that there's nothing new here. Manufacturers have had mechanism's to delay throttle closing since the 70's, if anything surely modern electronic management systems give engineers more opportunity to work with this than the early mechanical ones. Hell, more than one of my mid-70's Alfa's had a small damper set between the dual webers/dellortos that physically slowed down the throttle close rate. Of course most of us ripped those off asap but that's how long these things have been around.

Either way, smooth shifts in a 992 manual are not an issue with the auto-blip turned off.

I have not experienced this problem with my C2S. Shifts are smooth.

I watched the video until the end. It basically says this isn’t really an issue with modern direct injection engines. So, shouldn’t be an issue with manual 992s. The story by Motor Authority ignores this — better to get more clicks, I guess, by suggesting problems.

To accelerate, the car downshifts like three times and sounds like crap... and from a standstill with the engine off?
Junk...
And then to shift manually one must have their hands at 3 and 9 to operate the paddle shifters: I don't drive like that.... my right hand is almost always on the shifter...

So, it would be ok, if one could shift from the ****- but it's paddle shifters only...

So that is a NO WAY-

And thus the M-3 is the only out of my dilemma.....

Any HELPFUL thoughts?
My daily is an Audi RS5 SB....fills the bill when I was not driving my just traded 991.1 Carrera S. Take a look if you are okay with an auto. Tons of space with the SB for dogs or anything you want to haul!

My SA couldn't find a MT with my must have options so now have an allocation...will be happy to meet her in late Nov/early Dec!

I’ve been paying attention to the 992 manual market and at the least, they seem to be turning over significantly faster than PDK cars in dealer inventories. Hopefully that’s causing dealers to order a lot more.

Despite my better judgment, I really like the Superman build in Fresno! If I did not receive an allocation for my C2S, I would have bought this car. Maybe I should have instead of waiting . . . .
