There are one or two people on here that have painted them gloss black. I can try to search some threads later to find them for you or hopefully they can chime in and post here.

I'm considering painting the inside gloss black and leaving the lip and spoke surface silver. Or painting the whole thing.

Have been searching the forum but no luck.

I wonder how silver lip with black powdercoat would look.

I feel you man. I hated the silver lip on my RS Spyder wheels, I had them powder coated matte black...

Thanks for sharing.That looks great.
I'm getting a 992 with Carrera classic wheels and that silver edge/lip is bothering me.

So now I’m actually thinking of leaving the inner spoke and wheel-center portions of the Carerra Classic wheels (the dark silver/grey portions) as-is, and only getting the the machined shiny silver edging powder-coated... In the satin black. I don’t know photoshop, but the last photo is a horrible mockup I did in Apple Photos... Thoughts?

Original shiny silver edging:

With black edging:

Also if anyone is decent at Photoshop and wants to take a crack at it, it would be very appreciated.

It's o.k., if I had to do it again I would have kept the silver lip and paint the background black instead of gray. All black takes some of the beauty out of the wheels. The other day I say a Carerra 4 with a silver lip with a black background, maybe Porsche is offering that choice now.

Full disclosure, I don't like all black wheels. The upper pic looks so much better than the lower pic. Why anyone would spend money to do this is beyond me. I just don't understand the trend toward all black wheels. Maybe because when I was a kid, before cars came with alloy wheels, I'd see beater cars running around with no hubcaps and black steel rims. I'm scarred for life when it comes to black wheels.

That would have given you a look akin to your Targa. Speaking of your Targa, what year is that? It looks just like my first 911.
