Carrera S vs Turbo S visually...

I just build a Targa 4S the way that I have my Turbo S, and the total cost was $192k.I.... Sticker on my Turbo S is 223k - so approx. 30k more gets you a LOT more power.
Nobody in their right mind would load up a 4S to 192k but just saying if you want to do an apples to apples comparison on features....IF the Turbo (non-S) comes out, that may be a VERY compelling car for many.

Yeah, no discount on the TTS even after having bought a ton of cars from them, but thats alright. My point with the post is that the TTS is VERY WELL equipped, whereas for the other models everything is optional.

I’ll be honest - having owned a Turbo, if I were to do the Turbo thing again I’d get a Turbo S. The Turbo S has everything. I would have to get PCCBs and if you want a couple of high price options the Turbo makes no financial sense. Resale is usually better on the TTS as well.

My 911 isn't my toy, it's my daily driver. My toy is my Huracan EVO. If I were trying to consolidate the two the 992 TTS would be a strong candidate but I don't know if it would win when there are many other deals out there. The price point just doesn't make it appealing to me over some others that could be had for that money.
Others in a similar price point
- Low mile 720S w/ CPO can be had in 2018 model year for 245K. A friend just snagged one.
- 2019 leftover 600LT can be had for the same price.
- Low mile Performante
- New Huracan EVO RWD
- Low mile 488GTB
- Low mile Aston DBS Superlegerra
I think Porsche pushed their price point into a world they can't compete with the TTS at 250-260K

Have you guys watched any of the video reviews of the Turbo S (all I've seen are the cab)?
Its almost comical how fast the car is... Some of the videos look like they are modified... more than one have compared the rush to Bugattis.
And its comfortable enough to daily drive.
Turbo S is by a mile the best all around supercar. Its a whole lot of coin but somehow manages to be the performance discount of the century.
Not his biggest fan but gives you a good idea of how capable this car is:

the appeal of a Turbo S is the understatement. It has super car performance, in a ‘sleeper’ package.... I think we all agree that it is less about the money at these price points, but more about the functionality and what it exudes.

The 992 Turbo S has a more robust PDK than the 992 911. Necessary to handle all that additional torque.

I disagree. I just sold my 488 GTB which we bought brand new 3 years ago. I sold it with 3500 miles on the clock, and it had an MSRP of 345k new. I bought the turbo since I couldn’t take the 488 anywhere other than from A to A.... a spin around the block, a cars and coffee, that was about it. I was too concerned about door dings, too much attention, and too much ‘in your face’.

I don’t even really consider the TTS a supercar. It’s a wonderful car at the pinnacle of all sports cars. It’s insane to call it a supercar as it’s no more supercar than a 720S is hypercar even though they both blur their lines respectively.

I don’t have any issues driving a supercar around. It’s not point A to A but that’s apparently my tolerance to risk versus your own.

If money was no object it is an easy decision to buy the turbo S. If this is a daily driver I would opt for the Carrera S. As a prior turbo owner, I can attest the rush is magnificent and addictive. However, I didn't daily drive that car as it would be useless to have an overpowered car simply to drive to work in horrendous traffic, e.g. Chicago, Denver, Phoenix, Houston and Seattle. Not that it would be uncomfortable, it is simply the madness of traffic negating having fun in a car like this. Visually, Porsche IMHO, has blurred the models together to some degree. To my eye, the newer turbos don't capture the essence of what I remember them as a kid. They were unique and only one emblem was required - 'turbo'. If a 992 turbo S is 250-260k then I'm jumping up another 40k to a GT2RS.
