The configurator does make it look a bit darker, but depending on the lighting, it does change colors some. I looked at the sample color and looking at it outside around noon with no clouds in the sky made it look different than even just looking at the sample in the showroom in the afternoon. You can also see from all the 718 GTS photos out there how the color can look different. For example:
I really like it, but I’ve always liked brighter colors on sport cars. I’m not getting it because I’m looking for attention, just really like the color and I haven’t had a green car yet... did yellow already.
As others have already said, color is a very personal choice so just get what makes YOU happy.
That posted picture of the GTS in Python Green at parking lot, it receives a strong white cue from the bright sun. I don't think any color would pull off good under such circumstance.
Below is a good presentation of the color in the real world IMO. It's on the bright side, but not too bright, To me much better than the lizzard green that's phased out already. I'm sure it's a good and rich green the most of time.
I like a lot of the Porsche greens, but Python just looks garish and cheap to me. IMO the key to a bold color working is also how it contrasts with the rest of the car (trim, wheels, etc.) and Python just doesn't work with the black trim. It makes the green look gaudy.
Definitely not for everyone, but that’s one of the great things about ordering a Porsche, we get so many choices to pick what we want... at a price of course 😀 I went with standard design and Carrera classic wheels.

That's very sharp--and (to me) reminiscent of the 70s 911s.
