I agree. I ordered a color and dont really know what it looks like.. my impression from the swatch that I saw is that the last two pictures should represent that color in some lights.. I think it will look good, but I won't find out for a few months...

The sample was the only thing I saw before ordering the car as well. I’m excited about the color and think it’s gonna look good. My last Porsche (991 GT3) was Racing Yellow, though, so I’ve always liked colorful Porsches. I tried PTS Birch Green on the GT3 but was denied. This time around I didn’t consider PTS because it’s just so expensive, I’d rather use that money for other options, like PCCBs. I think Python is a good color, similar to viper green, at a significantly lower price.

I have several options I wasn’t able to physically “verify” before ordering - Python Green (just saw a sample), lightweight/noise insulated glass, PSE exclusive design tips (just the pic on the configurator), and 930 leather package (just seen photos, and those were all on the Sport Seat Plus and I ordered the 14way sport seats)

did you give up the GT3? If so, how come? My 991 is sapphire blue. I love intense colors too. I think you've seen my build I posted it above. The choices I made allowed me to get the options I wanted and stay relatively close to budget.

I did get rid of the GT3 several years ago. My wife and I were presented with an adoption opportunity so I ended up selling it. Been driving a Volvo XC90 since then, so I’m excited to get back into a sports car. I loved the GT3, though, I daily drove it when I had it.

I’m like you though, not doing PTS let me get all the other options I wanted and stay in budget... well for the most part 😉

Yeah, lol. Same here. I want a 992 GT3, but it is a ways off (2022 at least) and I was afraid I couldn't daily drive it. Several people have told me it is not good as a daily due to the ride, inability to stretch its legs, and ground clearance. Not to mention allocations are a challenge...We will see what happens in after owning the 992 Carrera for a while. Congrats on your adoption and the 992!

I never had any complaints daily driving the GT3. I got it in 2015. It was delayed because of the whole engine debacle. I averaged 9k miles in 6 months with the thing. Did get stuck driving home from work in snow once (which was pretty rare in Dallas) and that was a bit nerve racking. Adoption fell through (actually 2 did) but that’s a long story for another time. It was several years ago though.

As far the 992 GT3s, I'm looking forward to seeing what it shapes out like. I’m just excited to hopefully get my car soon though. Congrats on your upcoming 992 as well!

I had posted a pic of the drive mode select switch that I got done. Quality was really good but turns out it is Lizard, not Python. I know Python has been hard to photo accurately, so even though the switch looked a bit brighter in the pics, wasn’t sure until I received it. Went by the dealer today to compare to samples.

This give you a good comparison of the two green colors. I’m going to get the switch corrected. I guess the silver lining for my car getting delayed until 11/6 is I got time to get this fixed hopefully before my car gets in.

Yeah, it is tough. Will they be able to correct without the sample?

Haven't heard back from them yet but I hope so. Not sure if the switch can be painted again without losing the knurling on it. I’m sure it’ll get worked out though.

It was surprisingly difficult to try and get the paint code while I was at the dealer today. They don’t even have touch up paint they can order yet, I guess cause it’s a new color. The Python sample they have says it’s a metallic color (which it isn’t) and the paint code on the back didn’t seem to match other descriptions they found of Python. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Odd. Yeah, I don't think it is suppose to be metallic.. If they can't fix it, lizard green isn't a bad color. I was originally going to get lizard green gauges and a seat belt in that color but changed my mind. It's not right next to the mirror. So, it will probably look just fine.
I do hope they release touch up paint before I take delivery. I usually like to get that and clear side markers right away.

Another Python pic. This is what I have to keep me occupied while I patiently wait for my car to get released from port in Houston... posting pics of Python cars that randomly pop up online 😄
