I never thought I would say this...

I just took delivery of my 992 Cabrio with Pirelli tires. Love, love, love, the car and hate the tires. This is my second 992 with the first one on the Goodyear’s. The difference is night and day. The Pirelli’s are the roughest riding tires ever. The Goodyear’s felt more like the Michelin Cup’s that I have on my Spyder. I know that they’re not, however they feel so much better than the Pirelli’s. I hope someday they allow us to spec tires for our vehicles.

Never been a fan of Pirellis on four-wheeled vehicles. And agree--would love if Porsche allowed us to spec our tires :-)

Are you sure the tires are inflated properly?
I have Goodyear’s on my 992 and definitely enjoy them... only 1500 miles and I’m sure I haven’t had the car past 8/10ths, but whatever I definitely like them.
I had pirellis p zero’s on my 991.2 and 996.2, I thought they were good, probably enjoyed the Pirelli sotto zero winters more.

I agree. I'm a big fan of Michelin tires. I have Alpin PA5's for the winter and just got a brand new set of PS4S tires for the summer. They don't currently have N-rated tires for the 992, but I went with the Mercedes-spec 315's in the rear and they fit just fine. I have the pressure set to 33psi for the front tires and 38psi for the rears. The car rides and handles great, but I wouldn't say it's quiet. Not that I mind. Plus the tires are brand new, so maybe the noise level will come down after they get some more miles on them.

That’s the exact pressure I run. The Pirelli’s still feel like bricks. I’ll look into the tires you put on your car.

I’ve always thought it was odd that Continental hasn’t stepped up their game and offered a product that could serve as the basis of an exclusive partnership with Porsche. Both German companies... keep it Teutonic and all that. Conti is capable of making some fantastic tires. Weird they’ve never hit one out of the park for the 911.
I had Pirellis on my 997. I actually thought they were fine. Goodyears on the 992. Also fine.

I'll gladly take Pirelli's over the Goodyears. Goodyear is absolutely terrible. The endgame is PS4S, but still waiting for Porsche approved setup.
