992 C2S or 991.1 GT3
Guys I could use some opinions from the Porsche community. Currently I am driving a Camaro 1le daily. I am looking at moving into a 911. I am on the fence if i want to go with a lightly optioned 992 C2S or go with a 2015 CPO 991.1 GT3. This car will become a weekend car and not a daily driver. I am hoping to visit a local dealer that has a CPO GT3 and new 992s. The car wont be tracked but i certainly will be doing some spirited driving. Looking for any opinions good or bad. I am new to the Porsche community and watched just about every 992 video on Youtube....I slowly have become obsessed and completely talked my self out of the much cheaper C8 Corvette. I am 27 and not ready for the old man vette just yet despite how sick the new C8 is.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I recall back in the day I took a (then) brand new C2S 997.1 for a test drive. Upon returning the car I ran into an older colleague of mine taking delivery of a then new 996 GT3 with full racing kit from the dealer. This was then the previous generation car. He was very encouraging about my potential purchase. I didn't understand his decision fully at the time.
But, regardless, the point above makes sense. Drive both. See what "fits" your taste and wants. It's really nice to have the latest model with all the bangs and whistles. Hell, the 991 series feels ancient inside compared to the new product lines. But, there is always something timeless about a GT car.

Performance-wise, overall, it's very close. On real- world roads though, that will tell you something.
Sshhhh...do you hear it? It's the 4.0 liter!! Go to the 4.0 liter!!
Also, examine your need for creature comforts- ventilated seats, Burmester, sunroof...also note the 992 S has 21" rear wheels...wide front track...interesting when you'll compare the steering of both.

I have a gt3 4.0 manual and a 992s on order as a daily. There is no comparison in the relative feel and special feeling of the two. The gt3 motor is a gem and u feel like ur driving a race car. The 992 has a very grand touring feel to it.

Apples and oranges. Both are 911s but the similarities pretty much end there. And that is coming from someone who has one of each. Ask yourself what you are looking for in your 911? And then drive them both and see which one is more to your liking. For me, I would not have been ready for a GT3 with my first Porsche purchase. I evolved from a 991.1 C2 cab to a 991.1 C2 GTS cab (which remains my DD) to a GT3 Touring. If you plan on daily driving the car, I would opt for the 992 over the GT3. For as amazing as the GT3 cars are, they are not going to provide you the creature comforts of a Carrera or of a BMW 3 series. It is something you have to experience to understand. Good luck with your decision.

Didn't the 2015 GT3 have the engine issue, which porsche extended the 10 year warranty on the engine for that model only.. Also, I think the 2015 GT3 has the worst resale of any of the GT3 year?

As much as i love the GT3, it is too spartan for my needs.
The 992 GTS with Sport Pkg and Aerokit and my lux options is starting to look pretty good. Should be around 475 HP and 430 Ft-lbs. Lightweight pkg with rear seat delete with lithium battery and lightweight glass would also be nice.

The GT3 is great, when spec-ed correctly, but as a daily? It's somewhat doable but not as good as some other options. On a track with the tires hot, it's awesome. As just a weekend toy, it's awesome. It all depends on how you use it.
