Guards red looks similar in person compared to video but when i saw a black targa with red top in person, did not look good at all but in the video it looks good

my choice is chalk with black top and red black tone interior with belts in bordeaux red

Chalk with a red/black interior would be awesome. That's the color combo of my Macan.

I want to go back to Guards Red, since our first 911 was a new Guards Targa we purchased back in 1987 for about $45,000 with only one option - heated seats. My 991.2 Cab had a bunch of performance options such as PSE and RAS that I decided to forgo this time around. I just want a great sports car with a manual transmission that I can have fun with and cruise in comfortably. It doesn't have to be the loudest, fastest or best handling 911. It just has to be a 911.
for your case it’s better to 4-way plus seats, then 18-way.

I am keeping my 2018 991.2 targa for many years to come but thought it would be fun to configure a 992 targa in python green with the specs I would want if I actually ordered a new one. It came out to $174,500. For all those purchasing a 992 targa, enjoy your purchase!

I found the video that will make you feel great about your build

Guess my green targa will become a dime a dozen! 😆

I am really surprised they increased all the prices by $2k given the current conditions. And they didn't add a ton of standard features for the 2021 (mainly comfort access).

I thought about that. I'm 5'4 and 120 pounds, and I need as much adjustability as possible. My wife has manual fore/aft adjustment in her 997, and while I can find a position that works, it's never perfect. On the other hand, the 14 ways in my 991.2 could be adjusted to the perfect driving position. Unfortunately, the Sport-Tex seats are only offered with 18 ways and 4 ways. I'm also looking forward to the adjustable side bolsters, since I'm not very wide.

I have no idea!
Hi. I just want to apologize. I thought configurator was titled "Targa4s (992)" when I played with it, but those Porsches are clearly 991!

I think I was too excited about new Targa, ha ha. Sorry for a confusion!

FWIW, there's also rennbow.org. (I mention this because my beloved Moss Green Metallic is there.)

Current conditions for Porsche are actually not so bad.

Funniest quote from the article:
...a 30% increase [in sales for Q2 2020] is immense considering the 911 is a relatively expensive car enthusiasts buy with their heart, not with their brain. No one needs a 911.
The 911 isn't for everyone, but...oh boy.

Like-minded. I drove my '86 Targa for 30 years and well over 300k miles (odometer broke; don't reset while moving, or a little plastic tab that controls the whole thing may break off). I'm expecting my 2017 Targa 4S will be my last car. Just glad it's not a Camry.

The 992's are SO quick. Test drove a coupe before the Targas were announced, and holy heck; my car feels like a slug by comparison. But I'm still thrilled. Every. Single. Day.

(Spec-ing out a new Targa "only" came to $158,870 -- a relative bargain. Just bummed that a stick wasn't an option. Four times the cost of my '86, but a stunning evolution.)

Unfortunately, we only kept our '87 for a bit over two years. We had no children when we bought it, but it still worked fine as my wife's daily driver after we had our first child. With our second on the way we had to say goodbye to it, and bought a Volvo 940 Turbo wagon with a boost kit (I couldn't use the 911 as a daily because I needed a 4 door car for work). We missed our 911 so much that about 6 months later we decided to become a 3 car family and bought a used '86 911 Cab. Once child number three came along we found we couldn't fit three car seats across the back of the Volvo, so we sold the 911 and bought a mini van. One of the saddest days of my life.

BTW, my new Targa came in at around $156,000 and under $150,000 with my discount. I'm pretty happy with the pricing.

Faaantastic, man. Wishing you and your family tons of fun. Amazing how much the right vehicle can lift one's spirits.

(P.S. I remember the '87 Targa. That was when they moved the center-mounted brake light to the bottom of the rear window, then back up for '88. Was it really in the way that much?)

All of the kids are grown, I'm retiring from the real estate brokerage business and won't need a 4 door vehicle anymore, and by next spring our two daily drivers will be my Targa and my wife's 997. Add a move to Pasadena and saying goodbye to winters, and I'll be one very happy driver in 2021 (assuming there are Covid vaccines and treatments available).
