The maroon one on the left is a 2-liter 911S, it was actually bought originally by Steve McQueen for his wife and is now owned by a friend of mine. The two yellow ones are both 356's which I'm no expert in but the left one I do know is a '63 or so 356B. Here's a picture of the same car last weekend at the 356 club Concours held at Silverado Canyon in Orange County. That was a great event, huge turnout and some wonderful cars.

Both 356's appear to be either 64 or 65's since they have flat hubcaps signifying disc brakes.

ah, yeah well spotted! The 356B in question does indeed have disc brakes, they and the later wheels were fitted by a previous owner. It’s funny you mention this, the owner was telling me exactly this at the event.

What is striking about this line up is one can see that the increase in overall size from the 356 to the
Early 911s was about the same as the increase in size from the early 911's to the current 992.
I suspect there was not as much complaining back then about the transition to the 911 has there is now about the size and weight increase of the 992. I suspect some Rennlisters can comment on how it was back then.
I like McQueen's Aubergine color choice.

Tail of the Dragon. I went with a friend who has a 718 Boxster S. The schedule only allowed for a Saturday and I had some concerns after reading about weekend traffic. We were lucky with the traffic and only encountered a couple of vehicles which were polite and let us pass at the next turnout. There was some LEO activity. I did leave the sunroof open and windows down so I could listen to the car. This photo is from the US129 photos.

Not the 992 C4S this time around, however, the RS3 was the more practical choice with 3 adults!
We’ll definitely be back to the North Coast 500 🏴⛰😻
