Love the PCCBs (plus they look amazing).
For me PCCB was the #1 option I wanted... price not withstanding.. Not only am I super OCD about a clean car, even my wheel wells get cleaned up... but I LOVE how they look... by comparison the standard brakes look anemic.

Then there is the fact that I will likely never have to replace either the rotors or the pads... not unless I keep the car for more than 120K miles.

sport chrono isn’t part of the sport package. Sport chrono is standard when you spec a 7 speed manual transmission. The 7 speed manual has SC as standard, which saves you $2700 vs a PDK car, where SC is an option. That’s why, even though a PDK is standard and manual is a “no cost option”, technically the 7MT saves you money if you were planning to get SC anyway.

The longer this quarantine, the more changes to my 992 C4s build I'm afraid. After watching this I have a question. My 991.2 had ventilated seats and they were uncomfortable. I'm pretty small and petite, but these seats I just couldn't get adjusted right. My Cayman seats are super comfortable-- but they don't have ventilation. I was just guessing that they were different than the 911 ones, but after watching this, does anyone notice the difference in the seats from the ventilation in the 911?

from what I know... the ventilated seats are a bit more firm due to the membrane that is used... However, even today at hardly 70 degrees out, with the sun beaming on the car, having that cold air blowing on my back was worth it! YMMV

I have the 18 ways and they are very comfortable--not overly firm at all. Ventilation is a must here in Houston--I wouldn't get a car without it.

Thanks so much for your help! As I mentioned, the longer this quarantine and the more I read Rennlist and watch videos, the more changes I make to my build. Any thoughts on the PDCC? I am a fan of the RAS (I had it on my 991.2 and loved it so I put it on this car) but I never had the PDCC. I put it on my build but after hearing things about it on a 4S (as opposed to a 2S- where it really seems to make a difference) - I'm on the fence now. Thanks again

I have RAS on a 991.2 TTS only because it came standard. I don't believe it is possible to detect a difference while driving at high speed. In my view, the only possible advantage is that it lowers the risk of curbing your inside rear rim in a parking lot.

Metalblond, PDCC really works well, but in my view, it's not really needed on a Porsche 911 because it already corners with minimal body roll. PDCC is probably better suited for an SUV.

@Metalblond I have a C2S with RAS and PDCC. Agree with the sentiment that PDCC is more useful on a more top heavy vehicle but I ordered on the slight chance that it would help smooth out some road bumps as rumored in other threads. I have no idea if this helped of course as it’s the only 992 I drive but it does ride much better than I would have expected for a sports car.

I am now dreaming about a very basic build - no RAS no PDCC - thinking about more natural feeling and long term reliability - but I would have always wondered what I had missed if I had not gotten everything I optioned.

PDCC also reduces the sway bar effectiveness when not cornering. The wheels can work more independently over rough roads which leaves the car more settled over the rough roads. I have it on on my 991.1 and 970.2 Panamera.

I had 14 ways leather ventilated seats in my 991.2 and have Sport-tex sport plus 4 ways on the 992.

I have noticed the sport-tex is more comfortable; the 991.2 seats were more firm (though I never found them uncomfortable). Can't get ventilated seats with sport-tex, but I feel like these will breathe better than leather so I'm not concerned. Even though I live on the Gulf Coast, I personally don't love ventilated seats. They feel a little weird.

When I test drove the 992, the ventilated seats seemed better than my 991.2. Maybe it was because they were new, dunno, but I ordered vented seats again. I am now thinking about Sport Tex for the added comfort, but I haven’t read a definitive post that they will keep one as comfortable in the summer as ventilated seats.

I’ve now added about 5K to my original build due to the delay in it locking.

Ha, it's such a slippery slope. $500 here, $1000 there. "Well if I'm getting this, I should probably get that."

That said, I don't regret any of my options. If anything, I regret not getting the carbon door sills to match the rest of the interior. I can always add that later, though.

Your car was one of the ones that put me on the slippery slope with the carbon, to be honest here. My build started as a jet black metallic with spyder wheels and carbon interior and ever since I saw your steering wheel I'm thinking of adding that along (amongst other things). Slippery slope it is!
