lane change assist not working
I just had my 2020 911 carrera 4s wrapped and now my LCA is not working. Does anyone have an idea as to why this happened or a fix?

Did they remove the rear bumper when the wrap was done? If so, they likely did not re-install the sensors properly. I had that happen on another car.

Yep, they likely left something disconnected when they re-installed the rear bumper.

i asked them they said they never removed the bumper. Something had to happen he is a nice guy and i don't think he is trying to get over on me but it worked before i gave it to him. i would like to resolve it before i bring it to the dealer and then they charge me and say it was something he did

maybe they wrapped over the sensors, I think its the same sensors as parking sensors, and perhaps the wrap is of a material that covers/interferes with sensors? Good luck let us know!

Lane change sensors will throw a warning light if they become dirty, and LCA will not work. This happened to me. I suspect the wrap has covered the sensors.

My bumpers were not removed and the lca is not functioning. It's believed to be because he removed the mirrors. Sounds like it just needs recalibrated at the dealer, its quite the process as well to recalibrated.

New owners: ask your PPF installer "Do you remove mirrors, and if so are there any issues with calibration?" A blank stare or any hesitation in correctly answering is a clue your installer is probably clueless.

As you may have seen in another post, I have been told that Porsche AG issued a bulletin in Dec 2019 stating that placing PPF film over the LCA sensors (the side of the rear bumper) is not now authorised by them. It seems they have changed what was a perfectly adequate system on the 991, to system that now struggles with a PPF on the 992.
What seems odd is that not every car with a PPF is affected.
It would be good to hear from people with LCA and PPF with no issues to try a gauge the ratio of cars affected.

I picked up my 992 from getting full PPF last Saturday, SunTek Ultra. I can confirm that A) it is mounted on the rear bumper where the manual shows the LCA sensors are, B) cut to go around my mirrors (you can see the small gap/seam above my mirrors, but you wouldn’t notice unless you’re looking for it) so I’m assuming the mirrors did not come off, and C) my LCA is working as it should be. So looks like it it’s possible for PPF + LCA to live in harmony.
