I get it, most 911 buyers will never see a track or understand the joy of driving very fast on a dedicated circuit. To each their own. For me, it's not a status symbol or garage queen, it's a car that can do both DD and Track and do them well. I don't expect everyone to understand or agree, all I can say is if you don't get your car on the track, you are missing out IMO.
Agree totally that taking one of these to the track should be on everybody’s list. I am not getting a sunroof because I just don’t like them, and I save some weight and get a bit of headroom. Perfect *for me*.

I probably won't track the car (never say never) so I didn't opt out of a sunroof for that reason. I just prefer the classic look of the painted metal roof instead of the glass and I think the lack of additional break lines from the sunroof looks better as well. I also have never used the sunroof on any car that I have owned and I find the opening on the 992 just too small to give a significant open air experience (plus I don't think the cabin is claustrophobic at all without one or a glass roof). In addition, the external sunroof when open just doesn't look good IMHO. I know, all cosmetic reasons, but that's what I considered when making my decision.

But I find it hard to believe that anyone is driving the car hard enough on the street to realize the weight (or rigidity) benefits from the standard roof.
Yep, it'll be tracked...by both me and my wife. FWIW, most cars lose a bit of headroom to a sunroof (don't know if that's the case with a 992) which makes a difference when wearing a helmet to someone short of stature like my wife who needs seat at highest setting to see track. I had a track-icized U.S.-spec E46 M3 with no sunroof (all Canadian-spec E46s had sunroof), and the difference in helmet clearance was significant. Structural rigidity, helmet clearance and weight aside, don't like the look of sunroofs (inside or out) and don't want the mechanical complexity or the potential for noises overhead.

lol. Which lasted ONE generation before reversing that move. Even great companies have the occasional brain fart.

If the car comes with Filters in 992.2 can they be removed ?

I believe you'd need a full exhaust and a tune to do it. Not a trivial thing.

Speaking of Apple CarKey, I bet we see it on the 992.1... Probably 2022 models.

And I can think of no reason why it won’t be a purchasable software upgrade for earlier cars. All the necessary hardware is currently equipped on models with Comfort Access.

Come to think of it, Porsche should probably offer CarKey upgrades gratis to Comfort Access buyers, by way of an apology for the abysmal functionality of the system...

I will hate filters in 992, if they ever come to states.
So far limited to European market.

I hope so. I’d prefer a simple, horizontal 3rd brake light similar to the 991.2 (which would probably work fine with the vertical slats).

I really hope so! I bumped up to the Carrera S to get the manual, but I would have bought the Carrera if they offered it with a manual. Don’t get me wrong, the extra 65+ horsepower and larger brakes that the Carrera S has are nice, but I really wanted that base engine with a MT. I probably would have spent most of the $15k difference on extra options for the base Carrera.

That would really suck. Amazing how a portion of the inustrialized world has been sucked into this BS.

What I'd like to see
HUD
PDK shifter that doesn't look like a misplaced electric razor
Cleaner standard front end design
S brakes on base, Turbo brakes on S
wider range of color options w/o going to PTS
painted wheels (gloss black, satin black, jet black, aurum, platinum, etc) on all wheel options
built in phone charging
Double wishbone front suspension (obviously doable, but I think to expensive)

What I think we'll see
cosmetic changes to front, rear, and lights (hopefully fully functional matrix light option)
power bump to all models
particulate filters world wide
lame HUD
CarKey

"Add lightness" was the famous quote by Colin Chapman... And Gordon Murray has lived by it.
Rotating and unsprung weight are far more important than sprung weight:
Would like to see 2 piece slotted steel rotors with aluminum hats, and maybe lighter calipers...at least as an option, instead of PCCB, like is offered in the aftermarket.

I love the PSCBs on my Cayenne. I think they’re a great middle ground between the steel and PCCBs. Plus no brake dust. Love to see them on the 992.2.
