Default Wet Mode notification no worky?

Both times I dared drive my 992 in the pouring rain I had expected the promoted acoustic sensors in the wheel well to recognize the wet road and flash a message that I change into wet mode. However, I have yet to see the dash warning, so after 10 min or so I switch.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

I really wouldn’t care if they just hadn’t promoted this as a cool feature. All previous “wet” notifications systems on my other cars involved much more of a self taught atmospheric awareness that I’m proud to say I mostly perfected over the decades.

Mine works fine. But it needs serious rain.

There was another thread about what a gimmick this feature is - if it really needs a deluge to "sense" water on the road, I guess it is!
Roads are typically slipperiest just when it starts to rain before any oil or dirt can wash off them.
(I'd gladly trade my dedicated "wet" button for a homelink profile 1 trigger button!)

I have found that moderate rain will trigger mine. Nothing preventing you from switching to Wet mode on your own without any notification I believe.

In addition to the acoustic wheel well sensor and dash notification, Porsche has thoughtfully included a secondary WET mode detection system with even greater moisture sensitivity, plus, a heads-up display (HUD):

“With lever set at the first detent, the rain sensor/intermittent windshield wipers will activate (in the driver’s line of sight) upon sensing visible moisture, which will prompt the driver to engage the WET driving program. Note that this secondary detection system will not cause the WET symbol to appear in the instrument cluster.” (‘Good to Know‘ manual)

I've had my 992 for 4 months. In the early days, the Wet Mode warning came up 3-4 times, even in moderate rain, and I duly hit the switch. More recently, I have noticed that the warning has not been triggered, despite there being appreciable rain. I've begun to wonder whether mine has given up the ghost. Fortunately, the grip available from the 992 is pretty awesome and that, plus my natural caution, makes the "Wet Mode" a nice to have feature rather than something I would rely on.

Mine works perfectly. Important to note that it comes on at different points depending on driving mode, how fast you are going, etc. I have had it come on in drizzle when I was driving fast, or waiting for real rain when in normal and making slow progress.

Thanks, that's good to know. Makes sense, too!

It's not much more then a gimic in the 4S anyway. 2S, probably a good feature but unless your have an elephants right foot the 4S has traction, rain, hail or shine.
