Yes, I have. It works OK, but be sure to tighten all of the bolts and screws very securely to prevent it rotating from the desired alignment. I use US Millworks tow-hook mount plate holders on my 991 and 981 cars, and they are a bit more robust in design and construction, but they are incompatible with the parking sensor location on the passenger side of a 992.

guys - skip the front plate. i haven't had an issue in over 10 years in the dc metro area.

Yes, I did this to my 991. I put some green felt at possible contact points, and you can see that in the photo. When I moved to Delaware, I took it off and there were no marks. It screws in from underneath, so it leaves no mark on the bumper if you should take it off. I don't have my 992 yet so I am not sure if there is room underneath the lip to screw in the bracket. I was extremely pleased with this solution.

I second that. I did an informal count on the drive to and from work for a week or so... here in CT it is required both plates...I counted around 10% of vehicles without front plates. I then left it off the last car for 4 years and never had a problem even when pulled over for speeding a couple times.
