Ambient Lighting

What do you want to know?
It is included in the premium package for '22s. My car has it.
There is an option to have the ambient lighting automatically change colors to match the album art of the music that you are playing, which works pretty poorly in my experience.

What are the color choices and can you change the intensity of each color?

- Cold White
- Warm White
- Dark Orange
- Poppy Red
- Topaz Blue
- Atlantis
- Lemon Green
- Dynamic - Changes based on Album Art
The lighting is broken down into multiple zones that can be dimmed individually (or all together) to reach the lighting balance that you want:
- Doors
- Front Footwells
- Center Console
- Rear Seats

I spec’ed this and found the light intensity very weak. You can barely see the different colours and it takes a few taps before you get to that menu which makes it too cumbersome to change frequently. I wish the lights were brighter. Do I regret, no. Could it be better, definitely.

gonna be honest... I'm a huge sucker for ambient lighting for cars in nighttime driving.... hook line and sinker I love a bit of mood lighting. Mercedes has gone maybe a bit too far with it where their cars feel like a club at night. My new escalade is perfect except for the fact that they cheeped out and didn't carry the good lighting in to the back seats. BMW with their sky lounge sunroof really nailed it. I know Porsche is all about the driving dynamics but for me, a late night cruise at low to moderate speed with good music, the wife and some good atmosphere is JUST as enjoyable as carving the canyons and pushing the car to 9/10 (I don't think I'm a good enough driver to extract 10/10ths from these cars).

I didn’t include ambient lighting as I’ve never had a car in recent times where I thought the standard lighting was inadequate. Alas, the standard lighting in the 992 GTS is inadequate IMO. If I was ordering again today I would include this, not because I want any fancy lighting, just because I’d like enough light for practical purposes. Hope this helps someone with their choices.
