Anyone know if you can tweak the RPM level in which they open? Mine seem to open (or get much louder) around 3K.

Do the control actuators of the Non PSE exhaust open and close between the different driving modes?

Can you please send me instructions on how you got this to work as my dealer hasn't been able to activate it.

I'm in the process of ordering my car. After reading this thread I'm not sure I should order the car with PSE. Ultimately I plan on doing catless downpipes so the non-pse system with the manual functionality that can be opened and closed at will should be ideal.

Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated

Manually enabling the exhaust button is simple. I’ve had multiple people message me and they too were able to enable them. The personality behaves exactly like the PSE, just with nonPSE innards.

If you plan to go catless, order it with nonPSE. Get the DME Mapping done to get the exhaust button for like $100. Done n simple.

Personally I am glad I didn't get PSE.

Hi airindia33,

It’s solid advice from Vixcan who has also taken the time to assist me. I’ve also confirmed his learnings with my local dealer that’s it’s a very quick programming job via the PIWIS III software and your set. I’ve ordered a full Akrapovic system with link pipes and am glad I didn’t waste money on a PSE option only to remove it from my car upon delivery. I’m planning to get a Litchfield ECU remap down the track thus why I’ve moved this way with an aftermarket exhaust.

That said many users have been very happy with their PSE choices which by the end of the exercise is more cost effective than a full Akrapovic or equivalent system with link pipes. You also need to change the rear diffuser which is relatively costly in order to suit your new exhaust tips, as the non PSE diffuser has different openings. All things to consider.
Best of luck either way 👍

Vixcan, thanks for your hard work and sharing this info. Excuse the newbie question as I am new to the 992 platform.
I am planning to buy a TTS and like the quad system look better and plan to do after market exhaust.
991 valved systems are around $4K with the ability to be catless and that includes tips. 992 system would not need tips as they are no longer connected to the exhaust system so hopefully it should be cheaper .
Seems like a no brainer then to not go with PSE but do you know if the after market valved system connect to the Porsche OEM connections which would mean they can then be activated like the PSE system?

Yeah I ordered my car with PSE and also now have an Akrapovic system sitting in my garage also waiting on delivery of my 2021 car. For me saw this post a bit to late as my car had already been locked in w/PCNA and Porsche-AG so ordered the Akrapovic on a deal and will replace it and keep the PSE stored away or sell it. At least it [PSE] is on my build sheet for re-sale value I guess. Next question is to add Soul Cats or not? Hear better sound with that added especially since 992's in US don't get particulate filters added [thank god].

Have a stock 991.1 exhaust in storage also as I had Akrapovic Ti on my 991.1 previously...great exhausts!

This is a great thread. But I cannot find a dealer willing to do it. In fact two said they would look into it but didn’t bother to call me back. Any recommendations in gulf coast Florida area?

Thanks for sharing. Could you please confirm that you were able to get one of your available physical button to be mapped to this?

Would anyone also know if you upgrade from from a non PSE to a PSE but do not plug in the valves or activate the button, will the valves stay open all the time?
