I'm not getting the centerlocks this time around, and I've recently learned that I love Alcantara wrapped steering wheels (err... I mean Race-Tex - wtf).
Now I'm contemplating Sport-Tex seat centers, what do you think?

Depending on where one’s from, winter tires/wheels selection could be a factor in the wheel choice. In the German configurator (where I’m from), you can order winter wheels with the car. They have different sets for cars with center-locks and without. There are no photos but from the descriptions it sounds like the ones for center-locks look the same as the summer wheels (5 double spokes) whereas the non-center-lock ones have the old turbo-look (10 double spokes). People here drive half the year on winter tires so it’s a factor for me.

Thanks for verifying this, as my (non-experienced) instincts were the same, so I checked the box. Heard it in person too and was impressed.

Yeah, what's up with the name change? Was wondering about that too.

I would like to get one....but (I think) have to rid of my Touring which is something I am having a difficult time with. We’d use the Turbo S more for sure, more as a daily driver 8 months a year, but to sacrifice my Touring for the ‘Turbo S’ ???...I am just not sure I am prepared to do that.

Even these two are fun to compare in their own way.

So, my dealer (here in San Diego) is saying that they won't have build allocations for "a handful of months". The first non-custom cars arrive at the end of the year and will be over MSRP (which I refuse to do -- I'd rather wait...). Is that consistent with what others are hearing for availability of the 992 TTS? If not, I need to start calling around...

over MSRP for GT cars yeah! but for Turbo S I never ever heard ...price will drop within two years just wait for pre owned.

In all honesty I don't get the Burmeister "must have" in a low riding, significant road noise sports car. Especially if you add sport exhaust or after market one.
Do the tweeter upgrade to the Bose system it is worth it.

I would tend to agree with both of your statements/ assumptions...

I wouldn't even pay over sticker for a GT car at this point, nevermind a Turbo.

At least GT cars maintain their value somewhat- Turbos will depreciate. I didn't let that stop me from getting a Turbo, but I certainly wouldn't pay over sticker for one.

So, wrt some of the builds posted, are folks pretty much in agreement that the sport exhaust is pretty much a must-have?

I actually don’t like it. I think the standard looks better and I don’t need the car to be louder.

Interesting. I've always (where "always" means over the past 6 or 7 months I've been shopping) thought the non-sport looked better too. I like the square pipes. Just wondering if I'm missing out on the sound, or missing out on something else. Or perhaps compromising what future buyers might expect.
