So, I got some good feedback on that forum latte last year as well.

Re what he said about burmester...100 percent make sure you have it in that build...its a 230k car, that option needs to be there for quite a few resale wise (and its 3k, which at the sticker price of this car is kind of minor). The night vision and the insulated glass though def aren't as important FWIW, so that's a good place to save a couple bucks.

My only concern is - is the insulated glass strong enough to handle daily commute issues like hail etc.

First time I am hearing about cell phone issues. I do need cell phone to stream music, make calls (hands free of course), and have Cookie Monster help me navigate via Waze

Yeah, I'm intrigued by the comment regarding cell phone issues. If there's any chance of that, then I wouldn't want it for sure. This will be my daily driver (though historically I only put about 4K miles per year on my daily driver). Also wondering how effective the noise/thermal insulation really is.

At these Turbo S prices, I’m not sure why some of you don’t just get a Portofino?

(Unless you must have AWD for your climate, or plan to regularly track the Turbo)

Portofino is way less capable than the turbo s in basically every arena (I've got a GTC4 Lusso which Id say the same of for the most part in most dynamics). The Turbo S really does nail being the super GT sportscar. Granted I guess if you're not really hustling your Turbo S around, there's a lot to be said about the Ferrari aesthetics and special factor...

The problem is that I can not daily drive a Portofino - the amount of head turners and people asking me dumb questions about it at gas stations will drive me nuts.

Ferrari always attracts the crowd. I really can't stand crowds coming up and looking at my car all the time.

Even though they are fun to drive

100% getting. Have had the last 4 versions, but sold 991.2 TTS ahead of getting 992 Cs. Can’t wait to get back to have TTS.

I have had a few F cars as mentioned above, I can’t imagine a portofino being a real competitor for any of the things I care about

For fun I spec'd mine to $210k. Only options I chose were sunroof in glass and sports exhaust (which I may drop). I just don't see the point to the other options. I'm more interested to see the performance figures on the Turbo vs the Turbo S. If I were to buy one and things stay similar to the 991.2 generation (gap wise), I'd likely take the Turbo, as I don't really care about PCCB's or the other standard options.

Don't think I could ever deal with the attention of owning a brand new F car. I wouldn't mind a 458 Italia though as a sunday driver (to replace the Spyder). But those are at least 'old news' now so I think it would get less attention. Maybe not...

Holy crap - there is non-S Turbo model only Turbo S

Looking at the builder - I guess everyone just goes all out. Might as well called it Turbo only.

The S models are released first this generation. There will be a non S -- probably $30k cheaper. I'm holding out for that... light options, I should be $180k.

Already have a build code but I'll wait till they get 1 year of use and sign on then.

For the TTS, Burmester is expected. Most TTS builds will have it and you don't want to be the outlier.

lol. Thanks but that still won't change the fact that it'll take 4-6 years before I'll be able to afford one! LOL
