Default 992 C4S VS 991.2 TTS

I just lived with a new C4S coupe for a week and really enjoyed driving the car. Looking at used values there a some low mileage CPO'd TTS in the same ballpark cost as a new C4S.

I plan to use this as a alternate daily driver to my Cayenne GTS when the weather is fair. I've never been in a TTS so I'm wondering if any TTS owners that have now compared both could share their thoughts.

Ride quality, dynamics, overall comfort etc. I never once felt the need for much more power over this past week in the 4S.

Any input appreciated!

On most public roads, the C4S will feel plenty fast and the occasion to fully utilize its capabilities will be exceedingly rare and/or incur "go to jail" levels of hooliganism.
With the TTS, you really don't appreciate how powerful it is until you pass 90-100MPH, because unlike the Carrera, the brutality of the acceleration doesn't trail off.

I was seriously considering a used 991.2 Turbo S before going the new 992 C4S route instead. At street speeds, the 992 feels as fast as the TTS cars of a generation or two ago -- which is really amazing. I am very happy with my decision to go with Porsche's latest. That being said, I reserve the right to still get a 992 TTS at some point after someone else takes that new 992 TTS depreciation hit for me. LOL

We traded a 991.2 turbo for the 992 4S. Both are awesome. Loved the new features of the 992. Amazingly not a lot of difference in quickness the turbo has more higher gear torque and speed. The ride of the 992 is better in my opinion. Overall we haven’t missed the turbo and are thoroughly enjoying the 992.

The low end torque convinced me to stay with my TTS as the most convincing factor in my daily driving needs relative to driveability.......also more standard equipment for the money....and depreciation hit already taken and CPO warranty gives extra time with a car that is a year old in my case......subjective, but styling is still very contemporary and the rear spoiler looks better with the TTS........I actually like the interior layout in the 991.2 TTS better than the new 992.......

There are few of us former TT/TTS owners in here.

My view - the TT is faster, but not by much. I do think the steering and overall feel of the 992 is better.

The rest is a matter of personal taste.

Thx for the feedback. Sounds like I need to drive a TTS before making a decision.
i found a ‘17 3k mile certified TTS for C4S money which is causing the mental dilemma!

Any and all additional comments welcome.

thx!

Based on the interior alone, I would opt for the 992 if price was comparable .

The interior is what sealed the deal for me. I love the wide body and coming out of a 10 yr old C63 I was starving for some tech!!

If you reasons for buying are not about interior upgrades but instead performance, drive the TTS. The Porsche TT cars are awesome "everyday super cars".

Not sure about that. The TTS is not all about pure performance. It's got supercar metrics - but it's heavy and it feels like it. The steering, although good, is just not as good as the newer car - I'd argue the 992 is more fun to drive.

I love performance. I love power. I love acceleration. So I own a TTS (997.2 though - tuned).

BUT, We went to the 60th Annv. S.E. Region PCA party last night at PEC here in ATL. We did laps with their pro drivers in brand new 992C2's. I have to say, I'm VERY impressed with the Acceleration and Handling of the new 992's.

I'd still take a 991.2 TTS over the 992 but for raw performance, but those 992's are something else!!

Well, I went the other way I ordered a 991.2 turbo S and took delivery in 2017, massive spec with almost all the options and the most CXX Porsche GB have ever seen. Traded it for a new GT2 RS, always regretted it and asked the dealer to let me know if the turbo S ever came back. Last week I got the call and after some haggling, I've bought it back for £19k less than I traded it for and its only done 2,000 miles while its been away.

As part of the deal, I traded back my 992 C4S, a very accomplished and competent car but lacking character and soul and not remotely in the same league performance-wise. There's a massive difference, the numbers don't lie. Swap over day:

I was going to ask a similar question as the OP, and glad to see your data point. Definitely leaning towards the 992 (although I think a C2S).

Some great feedback here guys, much appreciated! As I mentioned, this car will serve as an occasional substitute for my
14 Cayenne GTS which just cracked the 61k mile mark. I can see my self using it also for the occasional night out with the
my wife as the other sports car we have are a bit too extreme/flashy or she hates the seats (race buckets)

It’s the same price things that im struggling with the most. Both will do a great job. TTS has already realized 50+k depreciation by comparison. 992 will have 1.5yrs longer warranty time but since the mileage will only be 3k different in several years, I feel the the resale hit will be
considerably less in the TTS. Plus it’s a proven platform whereas the new car may still have some
teething pains as I’ve read.

The ride compliance in the TTS, how is it by comparison?
