I took it as the 992 is not an engaging drive as the 991 GTS but it is an overall better car.
Which I think is what Porsche was looking for really.
They will get more DD buyers for the 992, hence better numbers .. and still roll out the GT / Turbo models for harder edged desires.
It's a formula that works .. which is why they basically print money

He is a great reviewer. I own a Golf R and his review on that car was 100% accurate.

My summary of my 992:
1. Coolness factor is off the charts.
2. Superlative build quality.
3. Exterior and interior are works of art.
4. Comfortable enough to be daily driver, but not as quiet on highway as I had hoped.
5. Fast, but not breathtakingly fast.

Somehow he missed the fact that Porsche introduced the sound symposer with the 991.1. The 992s I have driven sound pretty much like the 991.2 here in the US. I guess the particulate filters elsewhere dampen the sound by comparison.

His impression seems to be that the PDCC and RAS detract from the driving experience. That the C2S is too powerful for a daily driver. The C2S is not comfortable enough to be a daily driver. Perhaps the base might sound better with it’s 379 hp and be more comfortable daily driver given the absence of SPASM.

Couldn't agree more!
I find this topic of the spectrum from [more capable/comfortable/refined <-----------> hardcore sports car] interesting. Most of the time, I side with the purists - give me a raw, intense, compromised sports car over a cushy GT. But in this particular case, the 992 is replacing my Macan as the practical complement to my other sports cars. I actually welcome the practicality and GTness of it. I picked a discreet color and didn't spec PSE (mostly because I dislike the farty pops and crackles) but also because I want to be able to use the 992 as a quieter daily driver/grocery getter and the more it flies under the radar the better. That said, I can't fight my nature too much - I was a hard pass on the automation options like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and the automatic transmission. One still should drive their 911 not just sit in it like a Tesla...

Most journalist evaluations seem to be on the S with sport package. After doing some comparisons, I will probably take a S without SPASM. The consensus though on this forum is that the appearance is superior with SPASM. I have to test drive an S without SPASM - it might be more comfortable - daily driver. I am not interested in PDCC or RAS either. The delta between a c4 (w PTV) and C2s is not much.
