Nothing new - you could buy a Carrera with Aero package that looked like a GT3 since the 996.

I don't think anyone is going to confuse this Carrera Aerokit car with the new upcoming GT3.

What a world where you can buy Carrera that looks like a GT3 and a GT3 that looks like a Carrera...how are we ever supposed to tell them apart now?

Yeah but now there are 21 flavors of 911 and the GT3 is turning into a product line of its own destined for a similar number of variants

Anyone recall a time prior to a previous recession where Porsche had too many variants and got killed in the downturn?

Yep, and let's not forget, we are really the only ones that can tell the variants either way. They're all the same 911's to the masses.

It evens go further back to the 993 series. The 993 Carrera offered an Aero package with the same rear wing as the venerable 993 Turbo S.

You could also get M491 turbo look on 3.2s in the 80s or just ad the turbo tail to a narrow body.
