In North America, rear camera and front sensors are standard. The 360 option gives you front-facing camera and mirror cameras to enable side views and a rendered overhead view.
You get a rear camera and front + rear sensor suite as standard and it's more than good enough for all parking. IMHO, the only thing that the 360 camera option works particularly well for is judging distance to the curb.
In the UK there is no rear camera option as standard - just the front and rear acoustic which I have always selected. The car is small and I've always relied on my eyes and ears for parking (note the number of SUV's with pole dents missed by the sensors!). The biggest problem IMO is kerbing your alloys and I've found that RWS really helps with this.
I always get surround view whenever available and use it all the time. It helps me get the car centered and aligned in parking spaces and, most importantly, stay away from curbs (front and side) and wheel stops which sometimes are not detected by the acoustic sensors.
Yes, the standard sensors and rear camera are more than adequate. Porsche's 360 implementation is far from the best in the business.
This. I have the standard, TOTALLY fine...maybe 1 in 100 times I think, "360 would help but eh ill manage" at best. Granted if you specced thats still always great info haha.

Agreed, with one caveat. Will someone else be driving the car too? If so, how well do they manage curbs and other low-speed parking lot maneuvers? That's where the 360 cameras, flawed as they are relative to other marques (BMW's implementation is spectacular), come into play.
My wife has been known to get overly friendly with drive-through dividers and parking garage entries. She curbed the hell out of our wheels for years, until our first car with surround-view cameras. Since then, only one minor incident in three cars. She won't drive a car without it now.

I could take it or leave it myself.
It's a deal breaker for my wife too. She doesn't have it in her current SL550 but I had it in my S550 Coupe and now in my M8 Gran Coupe and she has been very envious of it. The 992 will have it and be her DD--will probably pay for itself with less wheel refinishing! The vessel is currently moored at Davisville, RI so the car should be at our dealer here in Houston by the end of the month (order placed 12/27/19 so almost exactly 3 months).

Me too, ever since our '15 Mercedes GLK came with it. Parallel parking is so much easier with it. My incoming otherwise low-option 992 manual will have it.
