Delivery, Version 2.0
Hi Fellow Enthusiasts,
I ordered my 992 C4S in January of 2019, nearly 14 months ago.
My first car arrived on Sept 12 2019, and the delivery experience went sideways. The first problem was a battery recall on the lithium battery, this took a 1 month wait to get a replacement battery from Germany. After waiting 1 month for the battery, I was notified of a defective Burmester speaker detected during PDI. I didn’t think this was the end of the world, it can be replaced when the part arrives. Finally, on the delivery day, the worst problem occurred. Somewhere during transportation or prep, the rocker panel sustained some impact damaged. I left the dealership on delivery day without a car, waiting for repair. After waiting a week for repair, it turned out the textured coating on the rocker panel is difficult to repair and the repair wasn’t perfect.
I decided to wait 4 months for another car, and the dealership was very understanding. I don’t know how the car got damaged, but the dealership was just as upset about it as me and I believe a lot of the problems were out of their control.
Well, today, I finally took delivery of the dream, the 2nd car. This is my first Porsche, and wow, what an experience. It was a perfect day.
I look forward to contributing to this community and sharing experiences. Congratulations to everyone else who has already taken delivery.
And finally , some pics

I would never park like that. Doesn't matter if you own those spots or not. All it will take is one jealous ******* to ruin your day. And double parking does make you look like an entitled ***. Please don't do it in public.

COLT601. I understand your argument. I am a decent, honourable, hard working person who earned this car the old fashioned way, through hard work and perseverance. I respect the demand on public parking. This happens to be my private parking stalls at my home in a secured area, it is the equivalent of a private garage in a detached home. Like I said, I would never ever ever do this in public but my own private space that I paid for is mine, and to me it is disrespectful to be labelled as “entitled”. The pictures don’t really do justice, but the truth is this car is wide and it’s actually difficult to open doors with two cars in my stalls.
