Default settings randomly changing on you?

Anyone else notice that sometimes (not always) the PCM and even instrument gauges (mainly my speedo gauge) change the presets from the last drive? or for example, sometimes the radio defaults to XM, even though I've been using bluetooth the last time I drove the car?

I am using just one key btw... and the same driver profile.

Yes. It’s extremely annoying. Porsche ID is dropped at random times and other settings revert to defaults. I’ve attempted a factory reset but it didn’t fix. PCNA cannot advise a fix, neither can the dealer.

they have to be aware of it and working on a fix... I can't see it lasting forever.

Dealing with PCNA is almost as bad as dealing with Comcast. I’ve called several times about this and they act like they don’t believe me.

Porsche seems to have a lot of buggy software. Features in the Connect app don’t work well either (nor did it work well in my 991.2). I’m sure they outsource the development of PCM and the apps. Maybe they need to find another vendor. My Audi S5 is bug free.

Are you setting and saving your settings to the key? If so and they are not holding let the dealer diagnose the problem.

I don’t have any such issue with my car.

I have one instance where after starting car I found left ring of display with screen I would never have selected. I re-set and has been stable for a couple of weeks. Strange to start car and have this happen. Is Porsche doing online firmware updates?

On Porsche connect I get trip and oil level readings on phone APP but have never been able to get remote lock/unlock to work.

I heard remote lock and unlock only works with keyless entry. No idea why but that's why I heard

So far mine has been ok, granted it does drop my phone every once in a while...which I feel like almost every new car has issues with lol.

We've had the same issues with the PCM in our 9Y0 CTT since day one. I've given up on it storing the Porsche ID -- it disappeared so regularly that the frustration of re-entering it outweighed the convenience of using it. Other settings -- HVAC, drive mode (especially the Individual settings, which regularly loses the disablement of auto stop-start), station presets, etc. all randomly glitch here and there.

I've posted extensively in the 9Y0 forum about us loving the Porsche driving experience, that car being our first Porsche. We are not so enamored with the Porsche coding experience. They should import some coding whiz-kids and QA testers from Silicon Valley to get their electronic house in order, now that the company has made the decision to enter the Electronic Age in a big way. No going back now. Quit dicking around and fix your [bleep], Porsche.

DISCLAIMER: The electronic gremlins have been annoyances thus far. Still plan on ordering that 2021 992 and gritting my teeth every time a false PCM warning displays.

It's very surprising that Porsche is so bad at infotainment software. Thankfully, one can largely overlook its badness simply by using carplay on the 991.2 series. This seems less true on 992.
